They don’t say “Soft as a baby’s bottom” for no reason

It was just this past year that I discovered my love for baby products. I found myself using everything from unbelievably gentle moisturizers to yummy smelling oils to even baby wipes. These goodies have not only done wonders on my super sensitive skin but they literally leave it as soft and free of irritation as possible. And it looks like I'm not the only one tripping over baby products these days!

In talking to moms, I've found that many of them start using their baby's stuff because deep down they know that if it's mild enough to use on their delicate little ones, it's good enough for them too. Not to mention, a lot of these gentle baby products work way better than anything else out there. And they're especially ideal for women with either very sensitive skin or who are allergic to certain ingredients and chemicals.

Here are 7 key baby products you should absolutely consider working into your everyday beauty routine:

1. Shower with baby wash: Baby washes are normally fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, perfect for dry, sensitive skin. Try one with ultra-moisturizing ingredients, like the Aveeno Soothing Relief Cream Wash ($5). This super hydrating  formula is made with natural colloidal oatmeal and rich emoillients that gently cleanse and soothe.

2. Try baby wipes: I tend to always carry baby wipes with me wherever I go. They work for everything from wiping your hands, removing your makeup, to freshening up on a hot, humid day. Carry a travel-sized pack in your purse, like Huggies One and Done Baby Wipes Travel Pack ($2) for whenever you need a quick touch-up or pick-me-up.

3. Hydrate with baby oil: My abuelita has had silky smooth skin for as long as I could remember. That's because she always dabs on a little bit of baby oil on her skin immediately after getting out of the shower. It locks in 10 times more moisture than any ordinary body lotion. Try Johnson's Baby Oil ($4).

4. Cure with a baby ointment: Whenever my mother gets a burn or a bad rash she always applies a diaper rash ointment to treat and avoid any further irritation. I love A+D Original Ointment ($5). It heals everything from minor cuts, scrapes, burns and even sunburns.

5. Slap on some Vaseline: To smooth dry, cracked heels, apply a thick layer of a baby-safe Vaseline all over your feet before going to bed. Then throw on some socks to help lock in moisture overnight. In the morning you'll wake up with baby soft feet. Try Vaseline Baby Fresh Scent Nursery Jelly ($4).

6. Apply some baby lotion: Looking for a light, nourishing lotion that will gently moisturize your skin without causing any irritation? Then try an all-natural baby lotion, like Weleda Calendula Natural Baby Lotion ($16). This moisture-rich formula is formulated with beeswax, organic calendula flower extract, and sweet almond oil that work to soothe inflammation and keep skin soft and protected.

7. Sprinkle some baby powder: Struggle with greasy hair? Sprinkle a little bit of baby powder at your roots to help refresh and absorb any excess oils. Try Little Twig Organic Baby Powder ($12)
