Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is back to stirring up controversy among mothers around the world! The outspoken Brazilian beauty–who previously sparked anger by stating that "There should be a worldwide law that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months"–has once again struck a nerve, this time by comparing hospital births to violence towards women. Yikes!
Bundchen tweeted out a blog post from her personal website, entitled "Birth Without Violence," that harshly denounced hospital births. "Many hospitals are like a mass production of babies, where routines are followed and the baby must be born as soon as possible," the post read.
Of course, the post has incited furor among many, especially those who see absolutely no appeal in giving birth at home, and honestly, I have to agree with them! Bundchen may be totally entitled to her own opinion, but that definitely doesn't give her the right to force it down everyone's throats…especially since this isn't her first time doing so.

She gave birth to her first son naturally, at home, while meditating…OK, we get it. But that doesn't mean that that particular method is right for every mom-to-be out there or that other women should follow her lead just because it was successful for her. And while she has a right to discuss her experience with the world if she wishes to, there are ways of expressing her opinion WITHOUT critiquing every mom who doesn't share her views.
I really don't know how Bundchen doesn't see the error of her ways, particularly since this isn't the first time she's put her foot in her mouth. Maybe she's just vying for Most Judgy Celebrity of the Year award? If so, she has a very good chance of winning.
In the end, every woman needs to decide herself what she wants in her birth. Bundchen needs to accept that and move on, instead of constantly shoving her ideas in the world's face.
