Kids win adorable rescue cat after their Facebook photo goes viral!

It seems like kids will do anything to convince their parents to get a pet! Massachusetts dad Dan Urbano learned that the hard way after his two kids used the power of the Internet to persuade him to finally get them the cat they've been asking for.

Apparently, Urbano's 7-year-old son Remi and 1-year-old daughter Evelyn wouldn't stop begging him for a cat for their family. In an effort to appease them, he told them that if a picture of the two of them asking for the pet got 1,000 likes on Facebook, he would give in and get them a cat. According to him and his wife, Marisa, they figured that perhaps a few of their friends might share with each other but not much else would come of the photo…so just imagine their surprise when the picture got more than 110,000 likes on Marisa's Facebook page and has been shared more than 100,000 times. WOW!

On Wednesday, Marisa posted the picture, which shows the adorable siblings holding a sign explaining their situation to the Facebook. Just hours later, they had already received an overwhelming response and the Urbanos knew they'd be getting a pet!

The family welcomed their newest addition to the family, a female cat named Hariette L. Pawturr that they adopted from a local animal shelter.

Aww, what a great story! How cute are these kids?  I bet they're so happy to finally get the pet they've been asking for. And I'm so glad that the parents kept to their word and actually got them their cat…although after that kind of reaction from the world, I guess they didn't really have much a choice! Plus, one thing's for sure–those kids will never forget how they got their first cat.

Enjoy spending time with your new furry friend, Remi and Evelyn!
