A couple of months ago, I wrote a post about a mom who got fined $50 for public urination after her 2-year-old son peed near a lamp post in Philadelphia. I remember being outraged at the cop's insensitivity and thinking it was one of the most ridiculous things I'd ever heard. And then, I learned what happened to mom Ashley Warden last week in Oklahoma… and I was floored!
The mom got a whopping–and completely uncalled for–$2,500 ticket for public urination after her 3-year-old son, Dillan, whom she's in the process of potty training, unzipped his pants to go pee-pee in HIS own front yard!! Is this a joke?
Sadly, it's not. When Dillan's grandmother questioned the cop's decision saying it was just a 3-year-old in his own property, she was told it didn't matter. "It is public urination… and it's in public view," Jennifer Warden said the cop told her, according to News9.com.

The most incredible part is that the Warden family lives on two-and-a-half acres on a street that's pretty rural, which means they don't get a lot of traffic. For some unknown reason, though, the police officer who ticketed them parks at the end of their street every day. Sounds to me like he needs something better to do with his time… Maybe he needs to be the one investigated for wasting his time and citing people for stupidities like this one.
I'm not saying I'm okay with public urination, but we're talking about a 3-year-old boy, for Pete's sake! What happened to common sense, people?
Ashley Warden plans to fight the fine, claiming Dillan didn't even get to finish the act! I can't imagine her not winning…
