For most kids, the holidays mean festive decorations, gift recieving….and a break from school! But for parents, it can mean stress, stress, stress. Between work, your household chores and running from store to store to get everything on your child's wish list, the last thing you probably want to do is think of new ways to keep your kids entertained while they're on school vacation.
Well, worry no more–we did all the work for you by coming up with 10 fun activities you can enjoy doing with your family this holiday break! Check them out below and enjoy!
Ice skating

One of my favorite winter activities to this day is going ice skating! Why not make it a family affair and bring along your kids? Skate a few rounds and drink a couple cups of hot chocolate and you'll sure to get in the holiday spirit!
Make holiday decorations!

Need more holiday decorations to spruce up your house? Gather up your kids and get crafty! You can make your own paper decorations for the walls, create holiday-themed picture frames, or even create your own ornaments for a Christmas tree. If you want to make the decorations really personal, cut photos of your family and add them to what you're making!!
Bake, bake, bake

One surefire way to keep kids entertained and happy is to bake together! When I was younger, I especially loved making cookies. But if you're feeling particularly ambitious, you can always go the extra step and make gingerbread men or houses. Those are delicious, no matter what the season!
Go sledding

If you live in a snowy area, make sure to get in some good old-fashioned family fun by going sledding with your kids! If you live in warmer climates, try another equally enjoyable outdoor activity, like biking or rollerskating.
Read books together

I love to read and the habit actually started when I was much, much younger. Growing up, my mom always used to read books with me during our free time together. It got to a point where I even memorized my favorites! Make reading fun for your kids by taking trips to the library, picking books out together, and enjoying them together. Hopefully, they'll continue to do the same when they're all grown up, like I did!
Have an indoor picnic

Cut up fruit and makesome finger food, like mini-sandwiches. Then spread out a blanket on your living room for an indoor picnic and enjoy the feast!
Play board games!

Pick a few of your favorite board games (including the classics like Clue, Scrabble and Monopoly) and arrange a family game night! You can also break out the deck of cards and teach your kids some good old-fashioned poker…Just kidding! You should probably stick to go-fish.
Visit new places

Whether it means hiking a trail in a nearby park or going on a weekend trip further away, make a point to visit somewhere you've never been before with your family. It'll be a good bonding experience to discover a new place together…and will probably make for some great photos!
Go camping...without leaving home!

It might be a little cold to go outdoor camping, but if you didn't get a chance to this past summer, take advantage of the break to arrange to do it now….INSIDE your house! All you have to do is follow a few easy steps and you'll have a camping experience to remember.
Watch movies

What better time to make some popcorn, cuddle on the couch with your kids, and have a movie marathon? If you want to really get in the spirit of the break, stick to all holiday-themed flicks.
