Can you believe Halloween is less than 2 weeks away?! This holiday is one of my children's favorite holidays–especially my daughter, Vanessa, who is already at an age where she understands what the celebration is all about. To tell you the truth, I really enjoy Halloween also because I have a lot of fun picking out my kids' costumes and decorating the front yard of our house. But the one thing I don't like AT ALL is the amount of sweets and chocolates that my kids get when they're out trick or treating. Even though I try to control the amount of candy that they consume during this time, the truth is that every year, it gets harder and harder!
That's why I love the following alternatives to the sugary treats that all of us parents can offer our kids and other trick or treating kids instead of the junk that they'll inevitably get on Halloween. Check out my suggestions after the jump.

Sugarless gum
My daughter LOVES chewing gum, so this is an excellent option to avoid the cavities that come from eating all that candy.
Stickers
Both my kids love stickers–and the Halloween alternatives are endless.
Modeling clay
Another excellent option that will keep kids busy is modeling clay (like Play-Doh and others). And a huge plus? They come in small tubs, perfect for giving to those trick-or-treaters on your block!
Temporary tattoos
I don't think there's a kid out there who doesn't enjoy temporary tattoos. They're fun, cute, and wash off easily.
