Warning: what you're about to read won't be easy… A Missouri couple has filed a lawsuit against two doctors and OBGYN practices claiming that their baby was decapitated during delivery. According to the complaint, Arteisha Betts was forced to delivery vaginally when she went into labor at week 28, even though she had been told by her OBGYN the month prior "that the method by which their baby would need to be safely delivered was by Cesarean section." Betts and her husband, Travis Ammonette, claim that while delivering, their baby's abdomen got stuck in the birth canal and that's when the doctor he "separated [his] head from his cervical spine."
Sadly, that's not all Dr. Gilbert Webb did, according to the lawsuit.
In order to cover his mistake, Webb allegedly pushed the baby's head back into the birth canal and told her she needed to undergo an emergency C-section. Once the baby was delivered, Webb proceeded to hide what he had done before presenting the baby to the couple.

Reading about this case gave me chills down my spine just thinking about what this poor woman and her husband had to go through. I just can't understand why Webb didn't agree to performing a C-section on Betts, if it was already established that her baby's abdomen was too big for a normal birth. I'm not a doctor, but it seems to me like all this could've been avoided if Betts had had a C-section from the get-go.
Delivering a baby is no walk in the park–despite what some lucky moms may want you to believe. Not being able to trust your doctor and being forced to do something you don't want to can only make things even more difficult. ¡Pobre mujer!
But, really, the worst part is that if the couple's claims are true, Webb has no business being in the medical field. If he's actually found guilty of what's on the complaint, it makes me wonder how many other horrid mistakes he's made and covered up in the past?
