In horrifying news out of Puerto Rico, a 34-year-old mom, Betsian Carrasquillo Penaloza, was arrested after undercover cops caught her prostituting her 14-year-old daughter and two other underage girls at a hotel in San Juan. The mom was detained at the Sheraton Hotel at the San Juan Convention Center where undercover cops discovered her asking for $500 for her daughter and $250 each for the other two girls.
Homeland Security Investigations discovered that Penaloza went as "Fatty the Maneater" and was known to prostitute other young girls besides her daughter. She remains in jail but has not claimed herself guilty or not guilty.

How a parent decides to mistreat their child this way I'll never comprehend. A mother should above all teach her daughter the meaning of self-worth and respect, and Penaloza couldn't have possibly loved her if she treated her like a sex object. It makes you question if some people are worth being parents because they're meant to protect and not place her children in danger, the way Penaloza did.
I hope her daughter is taken away from her custody and placed with a family that will treat her with love and not objectify her, because no young woman should have to experience this form of emotional or sexual abuse.
