Incredibly insensitive “Wonder Clock” app calculates when a woman will become infertile!

These days, there's a technological fix for every problem. Can't find the nearest Starbucks? There's an app for that. Looking for a new exercise routine? There's an app for that, too! But there's at least one recent invention has taken the app craze way too far! Called "The Wonder Clock,"the program uses a woman's date of birth to calculate—down to the exact minute—when you're going to become infertile! Say what?!

Designed to help confront women's insecurities about their biological clock, th__e app provides a literal ticking clock__ that will tell females everywhere exactly when it will become "too late" to have kids. The creator, an advertising director from Oregon, Mira Kadoura, says she created it to help her face her own fears of infertility. "It is an interactive, conceptual piece that seeks to start a necessary and empowering conversation about childbearing," the app's description reads on iTunes.

OK, excuse me, but am I the only one who thinks this is completely ridiculous? How in the world can an app that literally counts the seconds until your fertility supposedly "runs out" make females feel more empowered or secure about becoming mothers? As a young, single woman who is planning to focus on her career for a long while before marriage and kids, I can say with certainty that the only thing this app would succeed in doing for me is put insane amounts of pressure and stress on my life!

And I don't see how the app would be helpful to moms or already married women either! Don't women have enough to think about without having something counting away the time of their child-birthing years? Having kids isn't some sort of science that you should time by a clock. It's something that each woman has to figure out for themselves when they're ready. If females—whether single or married, with kids or without–are thinking of having children again or for the first time, I'm pretty sure adding a timer to the process would not be helpful.

Plus, fertility is such a touchy subject for so many women that I don't see how anyone can actually find this app useful. If anything, the app is completely insensitive to females because makes it seem like they are out of options if they don't have kids by a certain time, which is obviously NOT the case.

Besides, I seriously doubt that ANYTHING on this planet can really figure out when someone will stop being able to have kids. After all, miracles happen every day!
