How did these parents potty train their 6-month old?

I feel horrible, so horrible that I haven't potty trained my son yet. You see, he is 2 years and 7 months old and even though almost everybody tells me it's ok, I potty trained his sister a couple of months after she turned 2 and it only took me three days to do it! But, I don't know, there's something about going about it with my son that makes me dread the idea of even getting started.

And then, I hear about babies like Izabella Oniciuc, a 6-month-old baby who is already potty trained and I want to scream in frustration (and jealousy)! How did her parents do that?

Izabella's parents, Finn and Raluca Oniciuc of England, are not really saying how it happened other than to explain that their baby refuses to go in her diaper. And so t__he baby progidy has pretty much potty trained herself and says "boo boo" when she needs to go__. But that's not all, she's also developed a series of other noises to communicate other needs, like hunger, for example. Her parents have just figured out a way to understand the unique sounds.

"Mothers need to listen to their children – they are not making silly noises, they are trying to communicate with you," Izabella's mom says. "Babies are not stupid. I speak to Izabella the way I speak to adults, not in baby talk. I think she responds well to everything because I've listened to her from birth."

Plus, the couple is convinced that playing Mozart and reading stories to her while Izabella was in the womb also has a lot to do with her temperament and amazing skills.

Hmm… yeah… I did the same things with both my kids… from the reading in the womb to the talking to them like adults and while they both started talking much earlier than other babies, potty training is another story. Or, maybe, I'm just too lazy. Who knows?

I guess it's time for me to get off my butt and potty train my son once and for all.

How old where your kids when you potty trained them?
