I try to be a really reasonable person. I understand that times change and things are different for kids these days. But I can't for the life of me even begin to try to understand why anyone would want a crazy ridiculous toy, like a $29,000 video game. Whatever happened to a regular old car to play with?
Apparently kids these days just aren't satisfied with the toys of our youth. Now simple things like action figures can be bought as a life-sized toy for the reasonable price of $12,000 (insert sarcasm here).
Who ever thought up this insanity? And WHY?

It's not that, as a kid, I wouldn't have appreciated a luxury fake car (for about $97,000), it's about why parents would actually allow their kids to have these. I mean, are good grades and chores really worth a mini Ferrari for kids? Or even a kids camp trailer? What happened to just playing with regular old little cars? Ya know, the kind that can fit in the palm of your hand and don't cost the same as a modest 2 bedroom house.
There's also a huge G.I. Joe Play Set ($1,400) and an insanely detailed Star Wars replica ($3,000), which maybe don't seem so bad for someone who's a huge fan, but what about the BB Gun that actually looks like a machine gun that costs $3,500?
No, seriously, this thing is SCARY. If I saw a kid playing with that I would most certainly call the police. A kid shouldn't be playing with a gun that size! Even if it is a fake gun, there's no doubt in my mind that this giant "minigun" would certainly hurt somebody.

I don't think I've ever been so disgusted in my entire life, and that's saying a lot. These toys are by far the most ridiculous things I have ever seen and I just don't get why anyone would want one or much less why any parent would ever spend that much money on a toy their kid will likely outgrow in a week. Maybe this is the kind of thing that really rich people do but I'd like to kindly suggest that they put their money elsewhere, like their kid's education fund or a children's charity. Because nobody, I repeat, NOBODY needs a gold Gameboy.
What was the craziest toy you've had or your child has ever asked for? Did you buy it for them or find an alternative?
