Moms who say they don’t care about their baby’s sex are lying!

So this is how this story goes: A woman gives birth to a baby girl in India last week, but the hospital hands her a baby boy by mistake. When they try to exchange the babies, the woman and her husband say they don't want the baby girl–since baby boys are preferred in India for economic reasons. The couple claims there must be some sort of mistake and want DNA testing done on the baby boy. Meanwhile, the rejected baby girl is being cared for in the nursery hospital. Crazy, right?

While I would never reject any of my children based on their gender, I must say I this story reminded me h__ow disappointed I was to find out my second child would be a boy and not a girl.__

I know this confession will get me a lot of grief, but allow me to explain.

When I got pregnant with my first child, my husband and I decided not to find out the gender. We wanted to, you know, experience one of life's few real surprises. I truly had no preference one way or the other, but throughout my entire pregnancy I thought I was pregnant with a boy. Needless to say, I was truly surprised when my daughter was born.

A couple of years later when I got pregnant with my second child, we decided no more surprises. For practical reasons, we wanted to find out the sex of the baby. This time around, though, I really wanted another girl. Since I was only going to have two children, I wanted my daughter to experience how awesome it is to have a sister, like the one I have.

When the doctor told me I was having a boy, I'm not going to lie, I felt sad. In fact, I almost felt like trying to convince my husband to go for a third one, which is totally ludicrous because what's would assure me that it'd be another girl, right?

As soon as my son was born, of course, everything changed. The minute I laid eyes on him I fell deeply in love with him and I couldn't believe I had been sad when they told me I was having a boy!

Be honest, did you want a boy or a girl or did it really not matter?
