I've never watched the reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting, because I always thought that the Duggars were a bit on the kooky side for having that many kids. That's a whole lot of mouths to feed, clothes to buy and toilet paper to waste. I didn't think anyone would argue that 19 kids is a LOT if not way too many.
But Momma Duggar thinks we're the ones who are crazy. In fact, she's actually attacking the whole idea of overpopulation, saying that it is a lie. She recently went on a rant about how there is no such thing as too many kids and compares having too many kids to having too many flowers.
I guess that's easy to say for someone whose reality TV show helps pay for the 19 hungry mouths, but what about those that barely have enough money to feed themselves, let alone a child? Is she really advocating that they all start having more babies?

When asked a question about her family's contribution to overpopulation, she immediately retorts:
The idea of over population is not accurate because, really, the entire population of the world, if they were stood shoulder-to-shoulder, could fit in the city limits of Jacksonville.
Well, that's a nice fantasy and all, but any sane person knows and understands that it is just flat out not true. I, personally, do not plan on living my life out being squished shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone else on the planet. I need some breathing room, some room to live and plant my food and whatever else I need to survive.

Overpopulation is a real problem. I don't think that anyone on the planet having 19 kids (and counting) is a solution to problem. If anything, it's thinking like this that keeps kids in orphanages, foster care systems or, even worse, starving at home.
