Geraldo Rivera__ has really put his foot in his mouth this time. After blaming Trayvon Martin's death at the hands of neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman on the fact that the teenager was wearing a hoodie in a bizzare Fox News rant, the journalist apologized–but some of us just aren't buying it.
His own son was ashamed of his dad's comments after Trayvon's death and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons is slamming his apology, saying that it's "nothing but a defense of a racist, backward thing you already said."
But despite the backlash over Geraldo's comments, this isn't the first time he has been involved in a controversy. In fact, there's been quite a few throughout his career.

1. He got kicked out of Iraq by the military: After appearing on TV and detailing a future U.S. military operation in Iraq, the army said that he compromised operations and sent him packing. He was eventually de-accredited by the U.S. military for reporting Western troop movements in the war.
2. He fought with the New York Times after they said he pushed aside a rescue team: He was shown on TV as rescuing a woman after Hurricane Katrina, but later reports surfaced saying that he "nudged" an Air Force worker out of the way so that he could be shown on camera helping the wheelchair woman.

3. He got booed at the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York: More recently, he went down to the Occupy Wall Street protests in Zucotti Park and the protesters were not having it. They all chanted "Fox News lies" over him and shouted obscenities while he was reporting, showing how unpopular he is.
