Two Colombian musicians reported missing in Mexico found dead, and the details are chilling

Colombian musicians B-King and DJ Regio Clown, who had been reported missing in Mexico for several days, were found dead in the municipality of Cocotitlán, in the State of Mexico.

Bayron Sánchez Salazar and Jorge Luis Herrera, the artists' real names, had traveled to Mexico to perform in a series of shows. Their last concert was on September 14 at the Electrolab nightclub, located in the exclusive Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City.

After their performance, they were seen at a gym in the same Polanco neighborhood, after which they disappeared without a trace.

Confirmation of their deaths came a few days after their bodies were found.

Although news of the deaths of the two young musicians weren't announced until Monday, September 22, 2025, Mexican authorities confirmed that two bodies were found on September 17 in the municipality of Cocotitlán. A few days later, on September 22, DNA testing confirmed their identities.

"Forensic services personnel from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico compared the profiles of the missing persons and found matches with two deceased individuals who were located on September 17 in the municipality of Cocotitlán. In light of these facts, the FGJEM is conducting a homicide investigation," the Attorney General's Office reported in a statement.

The bodies of the two Colombian men were found in a vacant lot and have also been identified by their relatives, who recognized them by their clothing and tattoos.

We don't know much else about this horrific double homicide.

Despite the huge impact and international reach of this case, the motive for the crime and the identities of those likely responsible remain unknown. We also don't know the condition of the two bodies when they were found, so we have some details, but not much to know right now.

"Security agencies are working closely together to locate those responsible and shed light on this incident," said Omar García Harfuch, Mexico's Secretary of Security, after confirming the deaths of the two Colombian citizens.

Colombian president Gustavo Petro condemned the events and claims that drug trafficking was behind them.

Although Mexico has not yet released any information about the motive behind the attack or the identity of those likely responsible, President Petro did not hesitate to point out that drug trafficking was behind the deaths of B-Clown and Regio Clown.

"They murdered our youth in the United Mexican States. An international mafia strengthened by the stupid military and prohibitionist policy called the 'war on drugs' that they are forcing on humanity and Latin America. More young people murdered by an anti-drug policy that is not an anti-drug trafficking policy," the Colombian president condemned via X, formerly Twitter.

B-King had family ties to a drug lord.

The disappearance and subsequent murder of the two promising young urban music artists will remain a mystery until the facts are clarified. However, the Associated Press revived an interview that B-King gave in 2022 in which he spoke of his relationship with Camilo Torres Martínez, "Fritanga," who at the time was one of the leaders of the Clan del Golfo, Colombia's largest cartel.

"He's my uncle, he's a friend I love very much and he's always been there for me. I try to be very private, but it's something I'm not going to deny," he revealed in the interview on a Colombian TV station.

It's believed that Familia Michoacana may be behind this crime.

El Gráfico, one of Mexico's most prestigious tabloid newspapers, reported that a message attributed to the Familia Michoacana, a feared criminal organization, was found alongside the bodies of the two musicians. This detail would reinforce Gustavo Petro's theory that this crime bears the hallmarks of drug trafficking. The note allegedly said: "The FM has arrived, this goes out to all the grasshoppers, managers, and sellers, we're going for everything." For now, this hasn't been confirmed by authorities, we'll wait for more details as this story develops.
