When we heard that Blue Ivy Carter, the eldest child of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, bid over $80,000 on a pair of diamond earrings that were up for auction at a benefit hosted by her grandmother Tina Knowles, our minds were blown. That any person would be willing to pay so much for earrings seems incredible—even if it is for charity—let alone that a child would have access to that kind of money.
