Wherever she goes, Taylor Swift is known for her generosity. Most recently, she donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed during the mass shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade on February 14, following the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII win. And folks online are praising the pop superstar for her generous act of kindness.

Whether it’s tipping her Eras Tour truck drivers $100,000, donating to food pantries in the cities for each concert stop, or supporting charitable causes, Swift has a reputation for giving back. Her generosity is present even outside of the spotlight; the pop star was photographed in December handing out $100 bills to food runners for her private suite at a Chiefs game. Now, Taylor is receiving praise for a monetary donation in the wake of a mass shooting that happened during a parade celebrating her boyfriend Travis Kelce's NFL team.
Let’s take a closer look at the “Love Story” singer’s most recent donation supporting a shooting victim's family.
Lisa died during the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade.
Lisa, a 44-year-old Kansas City radio DJ, died on February 14 at the end of the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade to celebrate the team's win at Super Bowl LVIII. Although she is the only death so far related to the mass shooting that broke out during the celebration, 22 others — including children — were injured.
Taylor donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe for Lisa's family.
A GoFundMe campaign was set up for Lisa’s family in the wake of her death—and Taylor made sure it not only met its original $75,000 goal but well exceeded it, by making two $50,000 donations. “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” she wrote. A rep for Taylor confirmed to Billboard that the pop star made the donation.
Fans praised Taylor’s generous gift on social media.
Folks on X (formerly Twitter) applauded Taylor for her $100,000 donation to Lisa’s family. One person wrote: “That was a nice gesture by Swift. She didn't have to do it. Maybe a few more celebrities and billionaires can take notes. And I'm not even a fan of hers.”
Someone else declared, “I applaud Taylor Swift for this act of generosity!!!”
Yet another X user wrote: “Huge W. Can't hate on this. She didn't have to do anything. Well done Taylor,” alongside a hands-clapping emoji.
Lisa was a wife and mother of two.
In the wake of Lisa’s death, her family released a statement to CNN.
“Lisa leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Mike, and two children, Marc, and Adriana,” the statement read. “We ask to please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of Lisa’s death while also supporting our other loved ones who were impacted in this senseless act.”
Lisa’s brother remembered her as a ‘loving, caring, and devoted mother.’
On February 15, Lisa’s brother, Beto Lopez, spoke with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. He described her as a “very loving, caring, and devoted mother.”
“We have tragic situations like this one that occur unfortunately way too often and a lot of time individuals get lost as just statistics or numbers,” Beto said. “She did a lot for this community and the Kansas City area, raising money for a lot of charitable events and organizations, and it’s something we’ll be very proud of forever.”
The radio station Lisa worked for also released a statement.
Lisa worked as a private mobile DJ for over 15 years. She also cohosted Taste of Tejano for a local station, KKFI. “It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally,” the statement posted on Facebook read. “Our hearts and prayers are with her family.”
