Fans of Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have hoped they would be endgame since they first started dating in 2019. Through the years, the pop stars have had an on-and-off romance that at times, isn’t well defined. Recently, Shawn Mendes offered a rare update on his relationship with Camila Cabello.

Shawn, 26, and Camila, 27, became romantic around the same time they collaborated on the hit song, “Señorita.” They dated for about two and a half years before revealing their split in November 2021. Since then, Camila and Shawn have stayed in touch and have sometimes packed on PDA. So, where do they stand now?
Shawn Mendes recently addressed his relationship with Camila Cabello.
During an Apple Music 1 interview published on November 14, Shawn opened up about his relationship with Camila today.
He explained that they 'really know each other's hearts.'
Although Shawn didn’t go into great detail about where he and Camila stand today, he did divulge that they have a special connection.
“We’ve spent a lot of time together. We really know each other’s hearts,” he said. “So even when all of the sound and all the noise is happening, we can see through each other’s bulls— pretty easily, and it’s just nice to have that.”
Recently, Shawn opened up about his sexuality.
In late October, Shawn candidly addressed his sexuality while performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
“Since I was really young, there’s been this thing about my sexuality, and people have been talking about it for so long,” he told concertgoers in a video clip that circulated on social media. “I think it’s kind of silly, because I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing and it’s so hard to just put into boxes.”
He then spoke of 'the truth' about how he identifies.
“It always felt like such an intrusion on something very personal to me, something that I was figuring out in myself, something that I had yet to discover, and still have yet to discover,” the Canadian singer continued of his sexuality.
“The real truth about my life and my sexuality is that, man, I’m just figuring it out like everyone,” Shawn continued. “I don’t really know sometimes and I know other times. And it feels really scary because we live in a society that has a lot to say about that.”
During the chat, Shawn said he was 'trying to be really brave.'
While on stage in Colorado, Shawn explained that he wanted to discuss his sexuality publicly so he could be “closer to everyone.”
“I’m trying to be really brave and just allow myself to be a human and feel things,” he concluded. “And that’s all I really want to say about that for now.”
Both Shawn and Camila are single, as of writing.
At least publicly, both Shawn and Camila are single in November 2024. Camila most recently dated Lox Club CEO Austin Kevitch from the summer of 2022 to early 2023. Meanwhile, Shawn shut down rumors that he was dating Sabrina Carpenter in March 2023.
