OK, so in May, I wrote about how Benny Blanco said that his “next goal” is to have babies with Selena Gomez. The music producer and his multi-hyphenate lady love are head over heels in love with each other and aren’t shy about proclaiming it to the world. Rumors of their romance gained traction in June 2023 and a few months later, in December, Selena confirmed the rumors by replying to a since-deleted post by the IG @popfactions account linking the two with the comment: “Facts.”

Seeing Selena and Benny getting smoochie or lovey-dovey is no longer rare. They are openly each other’s biggest fan. So, what is the gossip surrounding them now about? Babies! As in when will they start making babies together? Benny said he wants babies with his boo and Selena has been very clear in the past that she wants to be a mom—even if she may not be able to carry a baby herself. And now there are rumors floating around that Sel might be pregnant with twins.
Let’s start with actual facts before getting into the pregnancy rumors.
In May, Benny was on The Howard Stern Show. Benny mentioned that he thinks about having kids with Selena “every day.” And Howard asked, “You want to have kids with Selena? Have you told her you want to have kids yet?”
“That’s my next goal, to check the box,” Benny shot back. “I have a ton of godkids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.” So we know Benny wants kids for sure. What about Selena?
In 2022, Selena was interviewed by Rolling Stone and shared with them that because of medication that she takes for her bipolar disorder, she probably won’t be able to carry babies herself.
That’s not going to stop her from being a mom, though. “That’s a very big, big, present thing in my life,” she told the publication. “However I’m meant to have them, I will.” Where there’s a will there’s a way, in other words.
OK, now for the pregnancy rumors.
Selena’s body and how it changes is always fodder for speculation. The thing is she has health issues, which include lupus, and her body changes because of meds, because of life, and because of none of our business.
Anyway, she went to Cannes in May to promote the film Emilia Perez. She walked the red carpet in a beautiful off-the-shoulder black and white gown and in some of the pictures her hands are on her belly.
Some fans are saying that the gesture indicates that she’s pregnant and instinctually covering up her baby bump. What bump? I don’t see a bump. I’m not convinced that she’s pregnant or hiding anything.
Wait there’s more fodder!
Benny posted what looks like an itty-bitty watermelon to his Instagram Story with text overlay reading: “it’s a baby.” Some fans are taking it as a confession that Selena is pregnant, but that doesn't even make sense because how can she be pregnant with a watermelon? Is Benny shooting watermelon seeds? I'm kidding! But for reals, maybe Benny was just enamored with the cute baby watermelon thing in his hand.
Oh, and then there’s this theory that Benny’s teeth are announcing twins.
An Instagram user with a private account posted a picture she zoomed in on that seems to show Benny Blanco has a baby face adorning two of his teeth. The user wrote in the caption that we can call her crazy, but she sees baby faces in Benny’s front teeth. “Could they be twins?” she asked.
I mean, I kind of see the baby faces, too, but I’m not gonna go and assume that means he and Selena are having twins or anything. If I zoom in on my own teeth in photos, I can probably see hidden things in them as well.
Also, the hands on belly picture that started some of the pregnancy rumors was taken in May, it's now August. Let's give it a few more months and we'll know if she was pregnant or not soon enough.
