Tragically, the beauty influencer died on Wednesday, March 27, in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil, The Sun reported. Sofia was 22 at the time of her death. She was also seven months pregnant.
Reportedly, Sofia experienced shortness of breath and sought medical attention.
One of Sofia's friends told The Sun, "She was very short of breath, so they thought it was anxiety." They continued: "On Tuesday afternoon, they found out it was dengue and went to 'listen' to her lungs. They were full of water. At around 10 p.m., they had to intubate her."
Doctors performed a C-section to try to save her life.
On the morning of Sofia's death, her baby died in the womb, her friend said. "They didn’t deliver her immediately because her platelets were very low, and she could have lost too much blood," they explained. "The cesarean section was the last resort to try to save her life."
Sofia posted about her pregnancy.
A quick look at Sofia's TikTok account shows multiple videos of the beauty influencer documenting her pregnancy. Among her updates are a clip of a sonogram and a clip of the baby moving in her belly. She also included a video of herself drinking a sugary liquid for her glucose screening test.

Sofia's final TikTok video featured the influencer doing what she does best — talking about beauty. In the clip, she mentioned how her nose grew during pregnancy, a common experience for expecting moms. Sofia also discussed her swollen face and how her hair was much more voluminous.
