The most memorable red carpet looks at this year’s Oscars

When I saw Selena in this dress, I thought she looked like the embodiment of “champagne wishes and caviar dreams” as said by Robin Leach on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous—if you’re too young to know this phrase or show, Google it. She’s living her best life at the moment and it shows.

First of all, congratulations to Zoe for winning the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in Emilia Pérez! She made history as the first person of Dominican descent to win an Oscar and she did it while wearing an artfully designed dress. Brava!

I will say this until I’m blue in the face: Colman Domingo has style. I adore seeing the Oscar-nominated actor’s red carpet looks. He takes chances, has fun, and looks incredible in everything he wears. Just look at him in this bright red jacket. Amazing.

Mikey Madison, the Oscar winner for best actress and star of the night’s big winning movie, Anora, wore an adorable Dior dress in the loveliest shade of pink with contrasting jet black fabric on top. The color combination and cut of the dress were spectacular.

It’s so nice to see more of Meg Ryan these past few years. She has never been a particularly flashy dresser and that still holds true. The dress she wore to the Oscars was such a dark color that it could be mistaken for black in certain photos, but it was more of a luxurious deep red.

Ana de Armas, the 2023 nominee for best actress for her turn in Blonde, wore a long black gown with a sultry train. The dress was adorned with a lace collar that doubled as a built-in necklace of sorts. Ana did add earrings and a ring.

ScarJo arrived in a deep blue velvet gown with matching opera-length gloves. The fabric of the gown was sumptuous and looked fantastic under the lights.

The Nosferatu actress wore a sheer lacy number. The dress featured ruffles around the hips and right above the knees. Lily-Rose kept the rest of the look simple for an elegant look.

If I’m being honest, this isn’t one of my favorite looks of the evening. The detailing in the front just didn’t do it for me. It made the dress seem like something I could find at a mall bridal shop. But that’s just my opinion, of course.

Halle Berry played the part of a glittering goddess in a strapless gown that looked like it was a mosaic made of shards of mirrored glass. It could not have fit her any better.

OK, Jeremy Strong, I see you and I like what I see. I’ve been checking out his red carpet style this awards season and this man can dress! Jeremy, who is nominated for the best supporting Oscar for his role in The Apprentice, always wears something interesting and I am so here for it.

Can we have a moment for the shoulders on the dress! I love them. Power shoulders with no shoulder pads for the win. The way they add interest and create such a unique silhouette is winning.

Miley Cyrus was giving drama on the red carpet. Her dress, her hair, and her eyebrows. Miley’s dress featured a high neck, no sleeves, and a sheer skirt with train. Her cascading hair was parted on the side showcasing gorgeous shiny waves.

Doja Cat, one of the night’s performers, might have been the only one in attendance that wore animal print. Don’t quote me on that, though. Her leopard print gown had a metallic sheen to it that looked wonderful under the lights.

Timothée Chalamet wore head to toe yellow. You could not miss him. “You will not get hit on your bike tonight,” joked host Conan O’Brien during his opening monologue. Timothée, who was lovey dovey with his GF Kylie Jenner all night, was nominated for best actor for his performance as Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown. He didn’t win, so we didn’t get to see that bright suit on stage accepting a statue. Maybe next time.

The British singer-songwriter stunned in a vibrant red gown. The way the fabric draped was mesmerizing. She wore a diamond strand necklace with a large ruby at the center that went beautifully with the dress.

Edgar Ramirez, one of the stars of the nominated Emilia Pérez, wore a deep blue suit with a velvet jacket that would have looked really nice next to Scarlett Johansson’s gown. I’m thinking that more people should be wearing dark blue because it’s quite fetching.

Red was big on the red carpet. Wicked actress Marissa Bode wore a dazzling red dress that created depth and texture with the use of contrasting fabrics. Her dress reminded me of of Dorothy’s red slippers.

I was expecting Demi Moore to wear black because I so often see her in black, but she sizzled in silver. Her ornately decorated dress gave the effect that she was encased in tiny jewels. Demi was nominated for the first time ever in her career for an Oscar, for best actress in the movie The Substance.

Lupita Nyong’o opted for a breezy layered look. Her cream dress was designed with a bodice that made it seem as though she was wearing a fancy tube top over the dress and belted it with a ribbon. Some said her all-white look was a nod to her character in the Oscar nominated animated film The Wild Robot, since she voices a white robot.

The Wicked star walked the red carpet in a dress that could have an entire biopic dedicated to how it came into existence. It was in a very dark deep shade of green, a nod to her character Elphaba.

One of the presenters of the night, Whoopi Goldberg wore an extraordinary dress in an iridescent metallic fabric. The dress fit her impeccably and she carried herself in it like it was no big deal to be wearing such a stunning gown.

I did not love most of the dresses that Ariana Grande wore this awards season, but I adore this one. It’s definitely giving vibes of Glenda, her character from Wicked, but with a twist. And how often do you see a dress with this kind of shape? Not very often at all.

I’ve always loved the contrast of black ribbon on a white or off-white dress. I also love that the ribbon on Elle Fanning’s dress is tied into a bow and the ends go all the way down the front of the lace skirt. The star of A Complete Unknown was perfection.

The Brazilian actress, who is part of I’m Still Here, the Oscar winner for best international feature, wore a dress that needs to be seen in motion and from all angles to be truly appreciated. It had bounce, shape, and texture that doesn’t really come through in photographs.

The multi-hyphenate performer wore an exquisite ensemble. I know there are probably a ton of people who would disagree with me, but I love it when men take chances with their style. It’s so refreshing.

I’m glad Bowen Yang walked the red carpet so we could see him in dressed as himself because he did a bit during the show and wore his costume from Wicked for laughs. On the red carpet, he wore a black suit with an embroidered jacket over a pink ruffled shirt.

Goldie Hawn, who was one of the presenters at the Oscars, wore gold and she owned it. The woman emanates warmth and joy. If someone makes a film about the sun, I think Goldie should play the part of the sun.

Michelle Yeoh, last year’s best actress winner, blew me away in a blue strapless satin gown with a long train. I’m always a fan of Michelle, but I’m not always a fan of her red carpet style. I’m a fan this time around.

Rita Wilson is wonderful. Rita’s dress is maybe less than wonderful. It’s not that I don’t like it, I mean I might even own something similar, I just wouldn’t wear it to the Oscars.

I think I’m a sucker for pink satin because I loved the pink satin in Mikey Madison’s dress and I love this pink satin as well. Monica’s contrasting top with the high-waisted skirt work so well together. And a gown with pockets is always a winner and so smart. Monica is an Oscar nominee for her portrayal of Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown. She is also dating Andrew Garfield.

Colombian American Rachel Zegler (and our very own Snow White) was a presenter at the ceremony. She wore a sort of ethereal strapless gown in a shade of ecru. I’m not a fan of the color and wouldn’t choose it for myself, but it’s dreamy on Rachel.
