Kylie Jenner gets emotional about public scrutiny over her appearance & plastic surgery

The Kardashian-Jenner family has been in the spotlight since 2007, when their reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered on E!. At the time, Kylie Jenner was only 10 years old. So the youngest sibling has practically grown up in the public eye.

On the June 20 episode of The Kardashians, Kylie opened up about the public scrutiny about her appearance. “It’s, like, a miracle that I still have confidence and I can still like look in the mirror and think that I'm pretty,” she admitted while talking to her older sister, Kendall Jenner, 28.

She admitted that the constant scrutiny is 'exhausting.'

She also spoke to producers about the toll of the constant criticism about her looks. “I just hear nasty things about myself all the time,” she told the show's producers, later confessing, “It just gets exhausting.”

Meanwhile, Kendall acknowledged that critics 'dehumanize' her and her siblings.

During their heart-to-heart, Kendall pointed out that the ongoing scrutiny is directed at their entire family.

“We’re dehumanized,” the model said. “They don’t think that there’s any rules with us. Whereas like, if you talked the same way you do about us about any other woman, people would come to their defense all day long.”

Kylie spoke about dissolving her lip filler.

Kylie also opened up about the fact that no matter what she does or says, people will loudly share their hatred.

“I went on a journey the last year dissolving like half my lip filler,” she said on The Kardashians. “I hate even having this conversation over and over and over again. Because it feels like it’s a waste of my breath because I think, with me, it is never going to change.”

She also shared some of the horrible online comments.

“Someone will be like, 'This is really mean,' and defend me. Like, 'Why are we talking about her looks? It’s 2024,'” Kylie told Kendall. “And then I’ll see other comments like, 'Because she did it to herself. She f—ed up her face. She had so much surgery.'”

Kylie lamented that she's seen many comments that she looks "old," to which her older sister assured her, “I’m not even just saying this, you’ve never looked younger and you’ve never looked better.”

Ultimately, Kylie resolved not to let the comments keep her down.

“I think it’s like, sadly — sadly — it’s something that we just have to, like, really grow tough skin on,” Kendall told Kylie.

“I always keep it pushing. I have to,” Kylie told producers. “I cannot let the comments get me down. I have s— to do. Rise above.”
