As children of two extremely wealthy celebrities, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's kids have access to opportunities most others don’t. This includes interacting with celebrities and athletes. So it’s not shocking that their son, Saint West, 8, recently got to escort Argentine pro soccer player Lionel Messi to the field ahead of a game—but it is still pretty neat.

Before Kim and Kayne’s divorce was finalized in November 2022, they were married for nine years and welcomed four children. Their eldest, daughter North, was born in June 2013, followed by son Saint in December 2015, Chicago in January 2018, and Psalm in May 2019. Each West kid has their own interests, and for Saint, that’s soccer. Let’s take a closer look at his recent up-close encounter with Lionel.
Kim recently shared a video of Saint walking with Lionel.
On February 25, Kim posted a video via X (formerly Twitter) featuring professional soccer players walking out on the field while holding hands with a child escort. Saint walked with Messi, 36, at the very front. “Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the La Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!!” Kim wrote. “He is living the absolute dream!”
She faced backlash over the video.
In the comments, X users didn’t hold back with the criticism of Kim’s kid’s unfair access to, well, pretty much everything.
One person wrote: “Would be awesome if some kid actually deserving of it got that opportunity. Not someone who was incredibly lucky to be born to billionaires.”
Someone else commented: “Whoever said money is not everything was lying. Even Messi can be bought.”
Yet another X user wrote: “Talk about privilege. Hope he can kick the ball.”
Lionel also posted a photo with Saint.
Meanwhile, Lionel shared a carousel of photos from Sunday’s game on his Instagram grid. The main image was of himself and Saint. “Greatest of all time ❤,” several Instagram users declared in the comments.
Kim has traveled far and wide to watch soccer games with Saint.
This isn’t the first time Saint has attended a professional soccer game—far from it, actually. In March 2023, Kim traveled to England with her son to bond over his love of football. “Soccer moms unite!!!” she wrote alongside a slew of pictures. “This was the trip of a lifetime! Taking Saint and his besties to London to see @arsenal play!!! ⚽️”
They also enjoyed a professional match in Paris—where they met some players.
Just two days later, the SKIMs mogul posted photos from France. “The soccer tour continued to Paris to see @psg play!!!!” Kim wrote. “The boys got to meet their fave players [and] we’re in heaven! Soccer moms for the win!”
Saint previously met David Beckham at a match.
In July 2023, Kim and Saint posed for photos with retired pro soccer player David Beckham. Also in the shot was David’s wife, former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham, and their daughter, Harper. And if you look closely, you’ll spot Saint taking a selfie with Messi!
Clearly, he has been a fan of the pro athlete for quite some time!
