It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian is a wealthy businesswoman. From her shapewear brand Skims to her SKKN by Kim skin care line and the Kar-Jenners’ reality TV shows Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Kardashians, she definitely works for her money. It makes sense, then, that Kim would occasionally need a break to recharge from the hustle and bustle of it all. And she’s definitely not afraid to flaunt her opulent vacations on social media.

In April 2023, Kim K took to Instagram and TikTok to document the amazing trip to Japan she took with her kids (whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West)—North, 9; Saint, 7; Chicago, 5; and Psalm, 3. The mom of four shared playful moments (with fabulous outfits, of course) of their adventures, including a Hello Kitty theme park, a go-kart track, a hedgehog café, and more. It’s clear that everyone had a blast exploring the various attractions. Let’s take a closer look at some of the photos and videos Kim posted from Tokyo!
Kim took her kids to a hedgehog café in Tokyo.
Much like how there are cat cafés here in the US, apparently hedgehog cafés exist, too. Kim made sure to take her kiddos to one during their Japan trip — and she posted photos from the visit to Instagram. Everyone had the opportunity to get hands-on with the hedgehogs. Although Chicago seemed a bit hesitant to touch one at first, she eventually came around to the adorable critters.
Other people, including Penelope Disick, also tagged along on their Japan trip.
In a group photo Kim posted from outside the hedgehog café, followers could see that the reality star took more than just her own kids to Japan. That's because Kourtney Kardashian's daughter, Penelope Disick, and other friends tagged along on the family vacation, too. The more, the merrier!
Kim made sure to squeeze in time to love on her kiddos, too.
Hedgehogs weren't the only ones who were the objects of Kim's affection at the café. Among the pictures in her Instagram carousel was a precious shot of the mom of four giving Psalm a sweet smooch. Mother and son were both wearing all-black outfits for the cute photo opportunity.
Another stop on their vacation was a Hello Kitty theme park.
Another highlight on Kim's vacation with her kids was a Hello Kitty theme park. Among the photos she posted to Instagram was a shot of her posing with her two daughters, North and Chi, in all-pink ensembles. Kim rocked a pink fuzzy coat while Chi and North wore pink shirts and pants. North completed her look with a milk carton cross-body bag and a Hello Kitty clutch.

The finishing touch to their all-pink outfits were Hello-Kitty-inspired nails. Kim shared photos of their adorable manicures, and in one shot, you could see an intricate Hello Kitty head glued to one of the nails. So creative and fun!
Kim and North posted a TikTok video from one of the Hello Kitty rides.
To share a first-person look at one of the rides Kim and kids experienced at the Hello Kitty theme park, they posted a TikTok video from what appears to be a boat ride. The ride featured a canoe that slowly traveled a water track — and on either side, animatronic characters greeted them.
A similar TikTok video featured Hello Kitty sights and merch.
A second video Kim and North posted via TikTok showed even more of the sights at the Hello Kitty theme park. This included the cute merchandise that was available for purchase — including hats, rings, shoes, and pretty much anything under the sun featured the signature bowed cat.
Kim's fuzzy pink jacket was a whole vibe in itself.
The star of their Hello Kitty theme park fashion was, of course, the luxurious, fuzzy pink coat that Kim rocked. Although Kim had previously called out her sisters, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, for their over-the-top looks in Japan, it seems she has had a change of heart. And we are here for it.
Another stop in Japan for Kim and the kids was a go-kart track.
Another fun stop on their adventure in Japan was a go-kart track. Kim posted a photo of herself posing next to the go-karts—and her neon green pants and black top were on point. Who do you think had more fun driving the go-karts?
The kids had an opportunity to play racing arcade games, too.
In addition to Kim and the kids (the ones who were old enough, at least) taking go-karts for a spin, it looks like they had a chance to enjoy some virtual driving. One of the photos Kim shared with her followers showed her son Saint playing a racing game. We'd venture to say he approved!
They became one with nature in the Sagano Bamboo Forest in Kyoto.
Over on Kim and North's shared TikTok account, Kim posted a video of her family walking through the gorgeous Sagano Bamboo Forest in Kyoto. You can hear the soothing nature sounds and see how tall the trees are. It definitely seems like one of the more serene destinations on their vacation.
Another TikTok video highlighted the decadent snacks they found in Japan.
In another TikTok video, Kim and North shared some of the delicious-looking street food they found during their family vacation. It looks like they enjoyed some refreshing slushes as well as a type of skewered rice dumplings called dango. Yum!
The adorable food at the Hello Kitty theme park was almost too cute to eat.
Just when followers thought they had seen it all, North and Kim shared yet another TikTok video showing them in a dining hall at the Hello Kitty theme park. Some of the food options included kitty-shaped dumplings, rice, chicken, sliders, and Hello Kitty cupcakes and other desserts. We're not going to lie; we kind of want to try it all out for ourselves!
Their vacay included a stroll through a park to marvel at the cherry blossoms.
Even the Kardashians can enjoy simple pleasures in life—like taking a walk at a park to see the gorgeous cherry blossoms. A video posted to Kim and North's joint TikTok account showed various family members taking in the sights (and likely smells) of cherry blossoms in full bloom. So pretty!
Finally, they ate at an eerie restaurant that featured a dungeon.
A final TikTok video from Kim's trip to Japan with her kids showed them eating at a restaurant in Tokyo with a decidedly different vibe than the Hello Kitty eatery. The clips showed Kim and the children walking by what looks like a dungeon before taking their seats at their traditional Japanese place settings and enjoying a meal together. They definitely had a variety of experiences on their vacation!
