To be fair, Kim has been involved in a handful of other non-reality TV and film roles. She made cameos in How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, 30 Rock, and Ocean's 8. Additionally, she appeared in Disaster Movie, one episode of CSI: NY, and four episodes of Drop Dead Diva. However, it was recently announced that Kim has snagged a role in a major TV series — and fans were both surprised and excited about her involvement.

On April 10, Ryan Murphy Productions announced that Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian would star in the upcoming American Horror Story season 12. The news dropped via Instagram with a dramatic video clip and the following message: "Emma and Kim are Delicate. This summer. FX and Stream on @hulu #AHSFX." Ryan Murphy chose Kim for 'AHS' season 12 after watching her host 'SNL.'
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy commented on the decision to have Kim K join the cast, noting that he was impressed by her hosting SNL. “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” he told the publication. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."
What character will Kim play on 'AHS' season 12?
Although we don't yet know what character Kim will portray on AHS season 12, we do know the upcoming season is based on Delicate Condition, a not-yet-published novel by Danielle Valentine, per People. Amazon's synopsis of the book describes it as a "gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens ― while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says."
Kim hasn't publicly commented yet on her upcoming 'American Horror Story' role.
Kim herself hasn't officially commented about starring in AHS. On the day of the announcement, she shared the same video Ryan Murphy Productions posted, along with the cryptic caption, " ." Kylie Jenner commented a string of fire emojis in support of her older sister's upcoming role.
Fan reactions to Kim starring in 'American Horror Story' have been mixed.
Social media reactions to Kim joining American Horror Story for season 12 have varied widely. Some folks were over the moon for the reality TV star to break into acting. One Instagram user declared, "Just when you think she's done it all, she's back again," along with clapping hands emojis. Another person commented, "KIMBERLY?!?! OMG."
