Tuesday was a big day for True Thompson, the 6-year-old daughter of Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson. But it’s possible that it was an even bigger day for mama Koko, who just couldn’t get over the fact that True was starting first grade. Instead of burying her head in the sand, the Good American founder kept her chin up and decided to commemorate True's first day of first grade with a photo shoot.

This wasn’t your typical first day of school photos kind of picture session, either. While you or I might instruct our kid to hold a mini chalkboard with their grade on it and snap a quick photo before sending them on their way, Khloé handled it in a more Kardashian way. She went all out and had a full-on backdrop set up that is worthy of a photo studio.
Hey, I’m not criticizing her, if I had the means, I might do the same because these kids grow up way too fast and my memory is not what it used to be so give me all the pics commemorating every milestone and then some.
Check out the setup Khloé arranged for True’s first day of first grade photos and how she was feeling about the whole situation.
Tell me this doesn’t look like it’s in a portrait studio.
I think Sears and JC Penny need to take a page out of Khloé’s photography setup manual because it would definitely be good for business. Khloé commissioned a pastel balloon and giant crayon paradise that proudly displayed the words “First Day of First Grade” on the front of the massive crayon box.
In the caption, Khloé admitted to feeling some kind of way.
“First Grade!!! True I am so proud of you!! I know you’re going to have the most incredible year ahead of you! I couldn’t be happier for you my angel. I’m not ok but I’ll pull it together by pick up time ,” the reality star wrote.
Of course, Tatum was in some of the pics as well.
Khloé shares two children with NBA player Tristan Thompson. True was born to the former couple on April 12, 2018 and baby brother Tatum Thompson was delivered via surrogate on July 28, 2022. Tatum, who recently celebrated his second birthday with a spectacular dinosaur-themed birthday party looked pleased to be included in his big sister’s photo session.
True’s dad was also on hand.
“Twinny first day of 1st grade Time flies my wow! I know Gigi’s looking down on you and she is sooo proud of you and how amazing you are and how you’re the best big sister. I love you Tutu ♥️,” Tristan captioned the carousel of photos he shared on Instagram.
Gigi is True's late grandmother.
In case you are wondering, Gigi is the grandma nickname Tristan uses for his mother, Andrea Thompson, who died in January 2023 of a heart attack. She was only 53 years old at the time. Khloé was instrumental in helping Tristan deal with the loss of his mom, even though she and Tristan were no longer romantically involved.
Tristan is very much a part of True and Tatum's lives.
Khloé and Tristan are no longer together, but Khloé has been deliberate about encouraging a solid relationship between her children and their father. Tristan has a total of four kids. His first child, Prince, was born in December 2016. While Tristan and Khloé were expecting Tatum via surrogate, Maralee Nichols gave birth to Tristan’s son, Theo, in December 2021, much to Khloé's surprise.
I digress. Back to True’s big day.
Little Miss True looked so ready to take on first grade in her crisp white shirt and plaid skirt. I wish True a wonderful school year of learning, playing, and growing. May she develop a taste for accumulating knowledge that lasts a lifetime.
