Kylie Jenner just celebrated her 27th birthday on August 10, but never mind about that because her slightly older sister Kendall Jenner just reminded her that 27 is basically 30. Why would Kendall say such a thing? Because it wasn’t just Kylie’s birthday, it was payback time and Kylie had it coming big time.

You know that saying, “Payback is a [expletive]!” Well, I guess we can all agree that when she wants to be, Kendall can be that expletive that starts with a b and rhymes with itch. I, for one, am not surprised because Kendall is a Scorpio and you should never ever mess with a Scorpio and not expect payback. They will wait however long it takes to get you back. So, it all started because Kylie dissed Kendall a while back.
It was all captured on The Kardashians and happened when Kylie was 25 and Kendall was 27. Kylie said, “These are our years, Kendall.” Kendall agreed and then Kylie ruined the special moment with a jab.
“I’m 25. You’re like 30,” Kylie said. She was kidding, but that did not stop Kendall from saying, “Kylie! That is so rude.” Kendall went on to explain that she was only 27 and with a straight face, Ms. Kylie says, “You’re basically 30.”
Then time did that thing that it does.
It kept on ticking and along comes Kylie’s 27th birthday. Kendall seized the opportunity to share a picture of herself and Kylie in younger years to her stories. The text overlay reads: “guess who’s basically 30 now?”
I mean, when that clip from The Kardashians was shared Kylie did say, “So when I turn 27, you can call me 30 too. But you’ll be 40 by that time.” I guess that means that Kendall is now 40. Someone is going to need to explain this Kylie math to me.
Don’t worry, Kylie is totally in on the joke.
On her own Instagram account, the birthday gal posted some snaps of her celebrating and captioned them: “27 (basically 30) filled with love and so grateful. thank you God.” See, it's all in good fun.
Kim got in on the fun as well.
Kim Kardashian posted a super sweet tribute to her lil' sis on IG, but ended it with a tiny barb in the caption. Kim wrote:
“I want to thank the universe for blessing me with a sister as sweet as you. Your silliness, kindness and love are the greatest gifts I could ever ask for. Happy Birthday, with all my heart you private little soul you @kyliejenner.”
Sweet, right? But at the very end of the caption, Kim wrote: “You’re basically 30 now.” That’s what happens when you’re the youngest sibling and act like life is over at 30, Kylie. The elders come after you.
Leave it to Khloé to just be kind.
Khloé Kardashian posted a carousel to Instagram with a long caption that was all love and no barbs saying just “what a beautiful and special soul” Kylie is and how she wishes that “not only this year but all years to follow will be years filled with love like in the movies, supreme invincible health and divine euphoric happiness!”
My favorite part of Khloé's loving caption to Kylie reads:
“I wish that in this beautiful new birth year for you, that you continue to find peace and purpose. I wish that you continue to dance, sing, smile, create all the memories you possibly can and explore the world as no one has before. God built us superhero strong for a reason. God put us together for a greater purpose. Let’s never forget how blessed we are simply to have the tribe we have.”
Mama Kris had no jokes either.
Kylie's mom Kris Jenner didn't participate in the “basically 30” joke fest either. Instead she posted beautiful pictures of Kylie throughout the years and expressed the pride and love that she feels for her youngest child.
