Jessica Alba is single. Or is she? The 43-year-old actress announced in January that she and producer husband, Cash Warren, were calling it quits on their 16-year marriage and 20-year romantic relationship. Fast forward to Sunday, March 2. Jessica arrives to the Vanity Fair Oscars party alone and seemingly single. But she does not leave the party alone. She leaves alongside 35-year old stand-up comedian Alex Edelman.
Photographs of the two leaving the party together sparked romance rumors because it’s not just that they left the party together, it’s the way they left the party together. Jessica was wearing Alex’s dark green tuxedo jacket and there’s even photos of him with his arms around her. Take a look.

I’m no detective, but it looks like Jessica was chilly when she walked outside and Alex not only offered her his tuxedo jacket, he put it on her. He also let his arms and hands linger on her. Meanwhile, Jessica seemed to be perfectly comfortable being wrapped in Alex’s jacket and arms.
Who is Alex Edelman?
His website describes him as: “Bostonian comedian. Jew. Sweetheart.” He started doing comedy when he was 15. He graduated from New York University in 2012. In 2014, he won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer for his first show Millennial.
Since then he’s won a Tony and an Emmy for his show Just for Us. He’s also writes for TV, appears on TV, and tours as a comic. Basically, he’s a busy creative man.
Is he really dating Jessica Alba?
Well, if we were to go just by the photos of them leaving the Vanity Fair party together, I might say yes. But according to a source that spoke to E! News, they are not.
“They are not dating,” a source in the know told E! News. “They met walking to their cars at the end of the night and he offered her his jacket because she was freezing before they went their separate ways.”
Another source told the outlet that Alex is just a “a friend of the friend.”
If they aren’t dating, then why all the hype?
Keep in mind that this is the first time that the newly single Jessica has been seen out in public with a gentleman since she announced her split from Cash. Maybe we’re all just excited to ship her with the first guy that comes along and offers her his jacket.
For the record, Jessica announced she and Cash were splitting on January 16.
She shared a message via Instagram saying that she’s been on a journey of “self realization and transformation” and that she’s proud of how she and Cash have grown throughout their 20 years together, but that it was time for both of them to “embark on a new chapter” as individuals.
Jessica and Cash got married on May 19, 2008.
They met on the set of Fantastic Four, where she played the part of Sue Storm in the film and he was a director’s assistant. Four years later, they got married in a spur-of-the-moment ceremony.
“It wasn’t planned. It was literally, ‘Honey, do you have anything to do this morning?’ And he was like, ‘No.’ So I said, ‘Should we go to the courthouse and get married?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah,’” she told Glamour UK in 2022.
She filed for divorce on February 7.
Actually, according to court documents, they both filed for divorce on February 7, citing irreconcilable differences. They listed December 27, 2024, as their date of separation and asked for joint custody of their three children: 16-year-old Honor, 13-year-old Haven, and 7-year-old Hayes.
