Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024. By late February, they officially finalized their split—a relatively quick turnaround for such a high-profile couple. But reportedly, J.Lo is working on an “ultimate comeback” that could result in “revenge” on her ex.
Ben and Jen’s love story started after they met in 2002 on the set of the film Gigli. They got engaged that November before calling things off in early 2004. Nearly 20 years later, Bennifer rekindled their romance in 2021. They married in May 2022 before splitting once and for all two years later.

In mid-March, an inside source shared an update on J.Lo with the Daily Mail. The “On the Floor” singer is reportedly looking for songs about “strength, courage, and perseverance” for her next album. The unnamed insider also claimed Jennifer was “in a great place” after her and Ben’s breakup.

Jennifer is reportedly striving for her best work yet for her next album.
“People close to her feel this will be her version of Beyoncé‘s Lemonade,” the source explained. (Beyoncé dropped the album following her husband Jay-Z‘s cheating scandal.)
They added, “She’s working to create the perfect comeback.”
She may unintentionally ‘exact the ultimate revenge’ in the process.
J.Lo’s 2024 album This Is Me… Now was largely inspired by her and Ben’s decades-long romance. However, her current approach “might inadvertently exact the ultimate ‘revenge,'” on him, according to the Daily Mail. That’s because Jennifer is reportedly “wiping him from her next album altogether.”
Previously, Jennifer said she’s focusing on herself, family, and work.
In November 2024, Jennifer spoke with People about her priorities after splitting from Ben. The mom of two said she was looking forward to spending the holidays with family and focusing on work.
“I’m also setting my sights on pushing my boundaries creatively and seeing where that takes me, whether that’s through acting or music or producing or expanding JLo Beauty,” she explained. “I want to continue challenging myself to evolve and to try new things while all the while being true to who I am and those that I love.”
Jen also said she’s not looking to date.
During an October sit-down with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, Jennifer said she’s “not looking for anybody” to date.
“For people who are romantics and love being in relationships and want to grow old with somebody, we think, ‘I have to have that to be whole and happy,'” she explained. “And you don’t.”
Despite sharing that she’s not ready to mingle, J.Lo ignited romance rumors after she spent time with Kevin Costner in January and after she was spotted with Brett Goldstein in March.
