OMAIGA! Jennifer Lopez hosted the 2025 American Music Awards at the new Fountaineblue Las Vegas luxury resort on Monday, May 26 and I guarantee you some people still haven’t picked their jaws up off the floor after watching her opening number. It was a sexy tour de force that showcased Jenny’s incredible dance abilities and a reminder that the woman can put on a show.
Not only did her dancing kill, she kissed two of her back up dancers — one male and one female — and then she went on to host the world’s largest fan-voted award show like what she had just done was no big deal and not at all exhausting.
As far as I’m concerned, it was one of the best music award show openers I have ever seen. And the timing of her killer performance could not have been better because the very next day she announced her new Vegas residency. The woman is about to turn 56 in July and shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
Check out her onstage smooches, show stopping performance, and how she took advantage of having tongues wagging about her to announce that she’s about to take Vegas by storm.
She started the show by singing one of her own songs.
“If this would be a perfect world, we’d be together then,” Jen sang as the camera came up on her for the opening of the awards show. She then continued to sing her heart out to her 2012 “Dance Again” hit. That could have been the entire opening right there, but that’s not how Jen puts on a show.
She then took us to the “multiverse of tomorrow’s American Music Awards.”
A disembodied robotic voice explained to the audience that they would be experiencing sensations such as “joy, love, sex, dance, and most importantly music.” Then J.Lo danced her derriere off to a mix of 2025’s biggest songs.
And there was kissing.

A remixed version of Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” lead to a steamy kiss between Jen and one of the male backup dancers followed by a longer more lingering kiss with one of the female backup dancers and lots of close encounters with other dancers.

Everyone was left panting and wanting more.
The audience response to her performance was enthusiastic and then some. The entire show could have just been J.Lo dancing and making out with dancers and it would have been fine. But, of course, there were awards to hand out so Jen had to move on with her hosting duties.
But Jen knows how to capitalize on desire.
Following her hosting gig, Jen made a big announcement. “SURPRISE JLOVERS! We’re back! I’m doing a residency in Las Vegas! Join me for Up All Night Live In Las Vegas At The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Dec 30 – Jan 3, & select dates in March! Tickets on sale Friday, June 6 at 10 AM PT. 🤍,” the multi-hyphenate wrote on Instagram alongside a poster announcing her new show.
She’s a freakin’ pro.
She gave a performance that left everyone clamoring for more and then she followed it up with an announcement of exactly where and when everyone can get more. Brava! That’s a brilliant marketing move right there.
