Bennifer first dated and became engaged in 2002 before calling off their relationship in early 2004. In 2021, Ben and Jen rekindled their romance after nearly 20 years. They said "I do" in July 2022, seemingly starting their happily ever after. However, things fell apart for Bennifer less than two years after marrying.

Jen recently sat down with Interview magazine for a cover story.

On October 9, Interview magazine published a cover story featuring comedian Nikki Glaser interviewing Jennifer. J.Lo. also shared photos from the cover shoot via Instagram. And although the 55-year-old didn't mention Ben by name, it was obvious that she spoke about the effects of their divorce.

During the sit-down, Jen alluded to needing to be alone after her breakup with Ben.

"You have to be complete, if you want something that’s more complete. You have to be good on your own," Jen told Nikki. "I thought I learned that, but I didn’t."

She added, "And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'"

Jennifer also confessed it's been 'f---ing hard.'

When Nikki asked, "Has it been hard?" during the interview, J.Lo replied, "Yes, it’s f—ing hard!"

Jennifer was asked to elaborate, and she did. "It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary," she added. "It feels sad. It feels desperate."

However, these feelings led to a realization.

"But when you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself," Jennifer pointed out.

After explaining that "being in a relationship doesn't define" her, J.Lo declared, "I have to have happiness within myself."

She continued, "I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, 'No, I’m actually good.'"

Finally, Jen touched on the 'lessons' she's learned.

In another segment of the interview, Nikki asked Jen about how she reflects on what she did wrong without slipping into "what's wrong with you."

Jennifer explained. "When you get to a point where you think that you’ve learned the lessons, and then it blows up in your face again, you realize, 'Okay, I haven’t, so what is it that I need to look at right now?' I would say, never stop looking inward, because it’s so easy to blame everybody else."

So, is J.Lo looking to date again?

Although Jen is now single, she is not ready to mingle. "I’m not looking for anybody," she declared during her Interview sit-down with Nikki.

"For people who are romantics and love being in relationships and want to grow old with somebody, we think, 'I have to have that to be whole and happy,'" she added. "And you don’t."

As of writing, Ben has not publicly addressed his divorce from Jennifer.
