Supermodel Gigi Hadid has been incredibly private when it comes to her 4-month-old daughter with singer Zayn Malik, only revealing small details about her pregnancy and life as a new mom since she gave birth. Earlier this week, she shared several joyful posts about her baby girl on Instagram.

Just a day later, rather than making a big, obvious announcement about the baby's name, Gigi subtly added the description, "khai's mom" to her Instagram bio. Despite her efforts not to draw attention to it, her followers noticed immediately. Many of her fans we're sure have been anxiously awaiting this information since before the baby was even born.
Gigi gave birth in September.
Gigi gave birth in mid-September and announced that her daughter with Zayn had been born a few days later. She shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the baby's tiny hand gripping Zayn's thumb.
It was weeks before we got another glimpse.
Fans and followers didn't get another glimpse of baby Khai for several weeks after that. It was late fall by then, and she shared some adorable photos of her babywearing her newborn and decorating for the holiday.
We eventually got a peek into her nursery.
Not long after that, Gigi posted some never-before-seen pictures from her pregnancy on her Instagram story, giving her followers a tour of Khai's chic nursery, but no new pictures of Khai herself.
We still haven't seen her face.
Weeks later, and Gigi still has yet to reveal her daughter's face to the public. This has to be infinitely easier during stay-at-home orders. There are no paparazzi photos, so Gigi and Zayn have full control over what we get to see of their child.
At least we have a name though.
We're actually kind of happy that Gigi and Zayn have been able to open up about their new little family in a way that makes them feel comfortable. As curious as we are about what is sure to be a gorgeous little one, it should be a parent's choice how and when they show their baby for the first time. For now, at least we have the name. Oh, and Khai means "warrior strong." How cool!
