In reality, it's difficult to know for sure what is happening between Jen and Ben. Neither of them has publicly commented on the speculation about their relationship. However, Jennifer recently made a major career decision that elicited backlash—and actress Eiza González publicly defended J.Lo amid the rampant "bullying."
Jennifer announced the cancellation of her 'This Is Me...Live' summer tour.
On May 31, Jennifer announced that she was canceling her This Is Me…Live summer tour, sharing the news via her OntheJLo newsletter.
"I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down," she wrote, per E! Online. "Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again."
She added, "I love you all so much. Until next time…"
Eiza González spoke out in support of Jennifer Lopez.
On May 31, the Baby Driver actress, 34, took to social media to publicly defend Jennifer. Eiza shared a screenshot of a story announcing Jen's tour cancellation, per USA Today, alongside a message.
"I have to say the level of bullying that this woman has received in the last few months is so disturbing and heartbreaking, she wrote.
She also pointed out the hypocrisy.
Eiza didn't stop there. "How can you complain about someone being mean while enjoying mean about them," she asked her Instagram followers. "People are humans, make mistakes and some have personal things happening while also having to be constantly perfect in the public eye."
Finally, Eiza reminded folks that they have 'no clue' what others are going through.
Concluding her message, Eiza issued an important reminder. "The world is a pretty complicated place," she wrote. "The best thing we could be doing now is be kind. We have no clue what people are experiencing."
The tour cancellation came amid reports of relationship issues between Jennifer and Ben.
Reports of trouble in paradise started swirling in early May when multiple outlets pointed out that Bennifer had not been seen in public together for nearly 50 days. The couple had last been photographed on March 30 in New York City. After Ben skipped the Met Gala on May 6, speculation only heated up.
Sources claim Bennifer is living separately and may be heading for divorce.
By mid-May, a source told In Touch Weekly, "They’re headed for a divorce—and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!"
The source added, "He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for."
Hopefully, quality time in place of Jennifer's tour will help them navigate their relationship, however it ultimately plays out.
