Demi Lovato is engaged! Her fiancé is a fellow musician who goes by the stage name Jutes or Jute$. They first worked together in January 2022 and apparently got along so well that they decided that working together on that project wasn’t enough. They were first spotted getting all close and personal with each in August 2022 while enjoying a meal in New York. By the time Demi’s 30th birthday happened that year on August 20, it was clear from social media posts they both made that the two were an item.

This is Demi’s first public romance since she called off her engagement with actor Max Ehrich in 2020 after a whirlwind relationship. "I was able to stand on my own two feet without needing someone else to validate me or to make me feel accepted," Demi said of how she felt after the breakup with Max. Years have passed since then and Demi is ready to be in a relationship again and she's in one with Jutes. He was first spotted being boyfriend-y with Demi in August 2022.
In August, Jutes and Demi enjoyed a meal at LAVO in New York. “They were snuggling and sneaking kisses throughout their meal,” a source told Page Six. They were also seen holding hands as they left the restaurant.
His real name is Jordan Lutes.
Professionally, he goes by Jutes or more specifically Jute$. His actual name is Jordan Lutes. He is originally from Ottawa, Canada, but moved to Toronto. He studied film and used to play basketball.
He’s a musician.
He loves to write songs and is referred to as a punk/rap artist. At one point, he was signed to Capitol Records, but he’s no longer with the label and is pursuing the life of an independent musician. He and the label parted ways amicably.
“I love being totally in charge of my own career, so it worked out quite nicely," he said in an interview with The Nuance Magazine.
He collaborated with Demi on her eighth album.
He helped write "Substance," "Happy Ending," and "City of Angels" on Demi’s Holy Fvck album. Apparently, he was skeptical about the collaboration at first. “when i got asked to pull up and write for this session i remember thinking wtf am i supposed to do in a demi lovato session? only to show up and realize she was making one of the hardest rock projects i’ve ever heard,” he wrote via Instagram.
Like Demi, he is on a sobriety journey.
On July 27, 2022, he shared via Twitter that he was “100 days sober.” A source told People that one of the things that Jutes and Demi have bonded over is their sobriety journeys. "They joke, laugh, talk about their mutual personal problems, and what they overcame as young people in the music business," the source said. "He is in awe of her talent and very supportive."
Music is a form of ‘therapy’ for him.
“I really live to write songs—it’s what I do every day. Sometimes at 3 a.m. before bed, sometimes while I have my morning coffee. It’s my therapy and how I first started being honest about my emotions and mental health, so my connection to it is very deep-rooted,” he told The Nuance Magazine.
He’s multi-talented and has ambitions outside of music.
“I draw as well and want to make my own animated show with my homie from Toronto who I met in film school. Would love to act eventually as well,” he told Nuance Magazine. He’s in his 20s and there’s no reason why he can’t pursue and achieve all of his artistic dreams.
He’s a big fan of Demi’s.
After she performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in mid-August, he shared a clip on Instagram and wrote: “sheeeesh best voice in the game, by a lot. u killed it rockstar @ddlovato. substance on @jimmyfallon last night. grateful to be a part of this one ✍️ ps ur [expletive] hot.”
He paid tribute to Demi on her 30th birthday.
He shared pictures and videos in honor of Demi’s birthday on August 20 and wrote:

Demi called him 'her love.'
They took a cute mirror selfie on her birthday and Demi posted it on social media with a text overlay reading: “Bday bitch w her love @jutesmusic.” How’s that for a public declaration of love?
He’s a fan of tattoos, just like Demi.
Demi loves body art and has quite a few tattoos to prove it. Well, it’s clear that Jutes is a fan of body art as well. His chest, back, and arms are covered with tattoos and he has more on other parts of his body as well.
He changes up his hair color often.
He has fun with his hair color and mixes it up. A quick look at his Instagram profile will show you that he’s had blond, pink, and black hair. He’s even done half blond, half pink. His roots say that his natural hair color is on the darker side.
He and Demi did a couples costume for Halloween 2022.
They dressed as some kind of creepy corpse bride and groom. Their eyes look trippy because they had contacts in that altered the color of their eyes. It looked like their eyes were all white except for black pupils.
He and Demi are said to be in a 'happy and healthy' relationship.
"It's a really happy and healthy relationship," a source told People in August. "He's a super great guy." Of course, no one except the two of them really know what their relationship is like, but for what it’s worth that’s what one person had to say.
He certainly seems to enjoy the time he spends with Demi.

On Demi’s 31st birthday, Jutes showered Demi with public praise.
On August 20, 2023, Jutes could not contain his affection for Demi and shared a carousel on Instagram with the following caption:

So, when did he propose?
A rep for Demi told People that it went down on December 16, 2023. First there was a “personal and intimate proposal,” then the newly engaged couple headed to one of their favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, Craig’s, with their families.
The proposal may have been ‘personal and intimate,’ but it was also pretty spectacular.
Jutes shared pics and video the day after the proposal and let’s just say that clearly there was a lot of preparation, planning, and effort involved. There were countless rose petals, candles, butterflies, and a beautiful cake involved.
The next day, Demi was still ‘speechless.’
She posted two images, one of her and Jutes beaming as they look into each other’s eyes and another one of the pear-shaped engagement ring he gave her from Material Good. I’m still speechless last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic,” she wrote in the caption.
And how was he feeling the day after?
“Yesterday i asked my best friend to marry me and she said yes. i can’t imagine my life without you and thank god now i’ll never have to. feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. i’m so in love with you @ddlovato,” he wrote on Instagram.
The engagement ring is like WOW!
The Material Good Instagram account posted a picture of Demi’s engagement ring and wrote: “MG Atelier ✨ Congratulations to @jutesmusic & @ddlovato on their engagement with this gorgeous bespoke pear shape solitaire ✨”
He spent his first American Christmas with Demi, her dogs, and a special guest this year.
