I am a manicure and pedicure lover who pretty much never goes to a salon to get either. Why? Well, there’s the whole outlay of money and time that I don’t necessarily want to spend regularly. But even if I did have the money and time available for regular mani-pedi sessions, I probably wouldn’t set up a recurring appointment because I’m more of an at-home manicure and pedicure kind of gal.
Relaxing at home while I pamper my hands and feet with my own products and doodads turns into “me” time. If anyone asks me for anything while I’m giving myself a mani or pedi, I say “I can’t help you right now, I’m doing my nails.” BTW, I use that excuse long after my nails have dried and I don’t feel guilty about it all.
Set yourself up for at-home manicure and pedicure success

Here are some must-have mani-pedi essentials to invest in so that you always have what you need to keep your hands and feet looking and feeling their best.
Flowery All-In-One Nail File

It includes a shaper, ridge remover, finisher, buffing prep, shiner, and smoother.
Promising review:
This tool is amazing for people who do their nails at home but don’t want to spend a ton of time prepping them for polish and also don’t want to spend a ton of money on different tools. It has a side for every step of nail prep, and they all work like a dream. The only “con” is that the “shape” side is VERY abrasive, so you have to make sure that you are gentle and precise…lest you carve your nail into a shape you don’t like within 2 seconds on accident!
Flowery Pro Manicure Kit

Remember to clean and sanitize your tools regularly.
Promising review:
I love this set of nail care tools! The clippers are sharp and effective and definitely my favorite of the set. I also love the cuticle pusher. It’s rounded on one side and flat on the other so its incredibly easy and is so much more effective than any other pusher I’ve used. I love the design of the clippers too!
Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil

Keep your nails and cuticles from drying out.
Promising review:
I have extremely dry cuticles and hangnails. So I tried this product. I use it every night before I go to bed. I massage it in to my nails really good and I put socks over my hands just to seal in the oil. I’ve only been using the product for a week and I see a huge improvement already! Very pleased!
Ella+Mila Soy Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover

This is a great option if you are trying to stay away from harsh chemicals.
Promising review:
So glad I found this. Much more expensive than classic acetone nail polish but it doesn’t damage the nails. No burning, no splitting, no bad smell. This stuff feels healthy. It’s also really effective, perhaps more than acetone. It has the power to strip glitter and topcoating easily.
Pronto 100% Acetone Professional Nail Polish Remover

Formulated to removes nail polish, gel, or shellac polish, sculptured nail forms and nail art, artificial nails, glitter polish, or nail glue.
Promising review:
This is the only nail polish remover I will ever use, it always cleans even the most stubborn glitter polish. As long as you saturate the cotton pad and hold in on the nail for a few seconds, this will take ANYTHING off.
Amazon Basics Hypoallergenic 100% Cotton Rounds

These are helpful when using liquid nail polish remover.
Promising review:
There cotton rounds are fabulous! Remove makeup, nail polish, apply toner. High quality and soft on the skin. This is on my subscription list I love them so much. They feel thicker and like real cotton compared to the ones purchased at the local supermarket.
Tweexy Hinge Untippable Nail Polish Bottle Holder

This clever tool makes it so that you don’t have to pick up your nail polish bottle while doing your nails.
Promising review:
This is such a great product to use when painting my nails. I don’t have to worry about spilling my nail polish anymore. Grips to the surface just by setting it down. The tilt feature is a nice bonus as well. When I’m finished I just make sure it’s in the upright position and lift it straight up to release the grip. I highly recommend the Hinge for those who like to paint their own nails.
Mani Maker Universal Nail Polish Grip

This tool makes it easy for righties or lefties to get a good grip while applying polish.
Promising review:
I’m extremely right-handed, so painting my right hand nails is HARD. With this, it is easy. The large foam “blob” gives my left hand a lot more control and that means nicely painted nails on both hands without mess.
Ella+Mila Top and Base Coat Duo

Why both? A base coat creates a smooth surface for your polish and a top coat adds shine and helps protect.
Promising review:
I just used it for the first time and I love them. They both went on smoothly and the top coat dried my nails quickly.
Essie Pinks Nail Polish

This line of colors comes in every shade of pink you can imagine and then some.
Promising review:
I’ve been buying this nail polish for a couple of years and am very happy with it. It goes on smooth and doesn’t peel or chip.
Aquaphor Repairing Foot Masks

Treat your tootsies to a repairing mask.
Promising review:
These are a must! Instant results. My heels were dry and cracked before using this. I left them on for about 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes my feet are soft and glowing. I need this mask for my entire body. Ha!! Highly recommend!
DoroSun Collapsible Foot Bath Tub With Handle

Folds up for easy storage when not in use.
Promising review:
I love this foot bath. Not having a bathtub has been a bummer because I suffer from painful feet. This foot bath allows me to soak my feet completely and comfortably. It is light weight and easy to handle. I am a size 7.5-8 shoe size and my feet fit comfortable in this tub. Its handle makes filling a carrying easy. The textured bottom is not too hard and feels really good.
Dr Teal’s Fragrance-Free Epsom Salt Soak

Perfect for soaking tired feet. Fragrance-free for sensitive skin.
Promising review:
I really like Dr. Teals Epsom Salts. My husband uses it in his bath and finds his skin is much more moist and soft afterwards. He also says he feels more relaxed and less achy after using the epsom salts. I use Dr. Teals Epsom Salts in a foot bath. My feet are much softer and hurt less after soaking my feet for about 20-30 minutes.
THSTOIC Gel Toe Separators

These are so useful for keeping toenails from rubbing up against neighboring toes while you’re polishing your toes and the polish is drying.
Promising review:
I’ve tried many toe separators, but until now, none of them worked. These separators work perfectly thanks to the gel and the way they’re designed, and they feel comfortable too. Plus, they can be washed. Overall, they’re great, so don’t hesitate and get them!
Earth Therapeutics Foot File

You can use this professional-grade file on wet or dry skin.
Promising review:
This glass foot file has transformed my feet! I’ve used this on my toes, heels and top of my foot, or anywhere I have dry rough skin and the difference is life changing. I no longer have rough dry feet. My feet are soooo soft!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

An all-over fast-absorbing, rich moisturizer in a light, whipped texture that provides 24 hours of soothing hydration.
Promising review:
This is a fantastic moisturizer. You can use it on any part of your body, even the most delicate and sensitive areas. It’s super hydrating and works well under sunscreen.
