Timothée Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995, in New York City to Nicole Flender, a former Broadway dancer, and French-born Marc Chalamet, who used to work for UNICEF on publications. He has an older sister named Pauline, who is also an actor.
He’s a Capricorn.

When did he start acting?
He was just a kid when he started being cast in plays and commercials. He even went to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York, just like his mom and sister did before him.
For a minute, he fancied himself a rapper.
While he was in high school, he wrote a rap song about his statistics teacher, Ms. Lawton. His rap name was Lil’ Timmy Tim. I dare you not to laugh while watching the video he turned in for one of his assignments. It’s freakin’ hilarious.
He continued to book roles while in high school.
While in high school he landed a few small TV roles, made his off-Broadway debut in 2011, and in 2012 landed recurring roles on two TV series: Royal Pains and Homeland. He graduated in 2013 and in 2014 he landed a role in the film Interstellar.

He went to both Colombia University and New York University, but didn’t graduate from either as he decided to focus on his acting career instead. Looks like he made a good choice because he’s doing pretty darn well for himself in the acting world.
What was his big break?
In 2017, he starred as Elio in the film Call Me by Your Name, received rave reviews, and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2018 for best actor for his performance. After that he landed roles in a bunch of movies including Lady Bird, Hot Summer Nights, and Beautiful Boy.
He’s also known for his fashion sense.
His red carpet looks have been admired for being gender fluid and unique. Early in his career, he tended not to use a stylist, which made his fashion choices even more interesting as he was coming up with them on his own.

Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s daughter, went to the same high school as Timothée and believed to be the actor’s first-known girlfriend. They dated from 2013 to around 2017. "I respect him a lot, we were a little item," Lourdes told Vanity Fair in 2021. "My first boyfriend."
