Since Shakira and Gerard Piqué split, the Latin pop singer has been romantically linked to several men. The “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress reportedly dated Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton and NBA player Jimmy Butler. However, the latest romance rumors involve retired NFL Julian Edelman.

In June 2022, the Colombian and Lebanese entertainer and Piqué split after 11 years together. The couple share two sons, Milan, born in 2013, and Sasha, born in 2015. Following their separation, Shakira wrote a song, "TQG," about the breakup, and Piqué started dating a much younger woman, Clara Chia Marti.

On February 3, Shakira posted photos from her 47th birthday celebration. The carousel of pictures featured her posing with plenty of people—but the fourth snap of Shakira next to Julian, 37, caught Instagram users’ attention. Dating rumors have swirled ever since.
Julian is a three-time Super Bowl winner.
Julian played in the NFL for 12 seasons as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. During that time, his team, led by quarterback Tom Brady, managed to snag three Super Bowl rings. He holds Super Bowl records for punt returns and first-half receptions in a single game.
He’s now a Fox sports analyst.
After the 2020 season, Edelman retired from the NFL. He currently works as a Fox NFL Kickoff analyst alongside his former Patriots teammate, Rob Gronkowski. Both his job and his family have him living in Los Angeles.
He also hosts a podcast.
In addition to working for Fox, Julian has his own podcast. The first episode of Games with Names dropped in August 2022. According to its description, Games with Names is a “sports history podcast on a search to find the greatest games of all time.” It continues: “From the infamous to the unforgettable, Jules dives back into the classic matchups and eras across all of sports history.”
Julian is also a father.
On November 30, 2016, Julian welcomed a daughter named Lily with a Swedish model, Ella Rose. Although he initially contested the paternity, the former NFL player has co-parented his daughter with Ella from the beginning. Julian gave Lily an Instagram shoutout in November, writing, “My Lily bug turns 7 today. Watching you grow into a silly, kind, loving, compassionate person has been the joy of my life. Love you baby girl, happy birthday! ❤️.”

Before Shakira was in the picture, Julian was romantically involved with a couple of other high-profile women. He reportedly dated Brazilian model Adriana Lima from summer 2016 to early 2017, although they never officially confirmed the relationship. After Adriana, Julian and Brazilian model Daiane Sodre were linked in 2017; it’s not clear when things ended between them.
