15 Family-friendly movies to watch on Father’s Day weekend

In the US, Father’s Day is celebrated every year on the third Sunday in June. But it’s a rather new-ish holiday when you think about it, because Father’s Day didn’t become an official national holiday until 1972 when President Richard Nixon signed Proclamation 4127, which reads in part: “Let each American make this Father’s Day an occasion for renewal of the love and gratitude we bear to our fathers, increasing and enduring though all the years.” In its relatively short history, Father’s Day has been celebrated in many creative ways, but this year it feels like we need to be particularly creative since celebratory options are limited.
