We've shared photos of some pretty fancy celebrity Christmas trees with you, but what we have here is quite possibly the poshest, most expensive Christmas tree of the season, anywhere on the planet. It sits or rather holds court in the lobby of Kempinski Hotel Bahía in Spain. Obviously, this is a luxury hotel because you ain't gonna see a tree like this at your average chain motel.

So how expensive does a Christmas tree have to be to be the most expensive one on the planet? Well, we can tell you that this one is worth MILLIONS. Yes, not thousands, not hundreds or thousands, straight-up millions of dollars. It seems hard to believe because even if you covered a tree in $100 bills, it still wouldn't be worth that much, but this tree is covered in jewels__.__
For those of us who cannot afford to travel to Spain to see a tree that is worth more than most people's homes, it doesn't cost a thing to look at pictures. And, yes, we have pictures for you. Ready, set, behold!
Kempinski Hotel Bahía partnered with a celebrity designer.
Us average folks decorate our own trees, but opulent trees like this one are designed. This one was conceptualized and executed by celebrity designer Debbie Wingham.
Cut to the chase, how much is it worth?
Get ready for the actual dollar amount because it's a doozy! Are you ready? It's worth $15 million. Crazy, right?!
What is it decorated with?
The tree is festooned with pink, red, white, and black diamonds. Cha-ching! You know those kinds of rocks aren't cheap.
The tree has other jewels on it, too.
Aside from the diamonds, the tree has other precious gemstones, like sapphires, adding glitz to the tree. In its press release, the hotel said the precious jewels are "ethically sourced." Good to know.
The decorations themselves are jewel-encrusted.
The ornaments on the tree are encrusted with gems and created from upcycled jewelry from Bulgari, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Chanel. Again, cha-ching!
The tree was inspired by a couple of things.
The designer took inspiration from peacock feathers and the Art Deco era. The predominant gold and green decorations on the tree certainly call to mind a peacock's feathers.
Every bauble is extravagant.
While the phrase, "All that glisters is not gold" comes to mind, it might be true in this case. Oh, and if it's not gold, it might be diamond glitter. We're not even kidding.

Do you see that gold purse ornament? Look at the center decoration on it. It looks just like a peacock feather, doesn't it?
Every item on the tree was carefully curated.
There are even 3-D printed chocolate peacocks on the tree. Do you think someone will get to eat them eventually? It would be a shame to waste chocolate.
There are also more classic decorations.
Look closely and you can find snowflakes, fairies, and nutcrackers. It is still in honor of Christmas after all.
There are also eggs on the tree.
We're not talking chicken eggs. We talkin' bejeweled emu and ostrich eggs that dangle elegantly from the branches.
Would you know it was worth so much just by looking at it?
We know it's expensive because we know what was used to decorate it, but honestly, at first glance it just looks like a nice hotel lobby Christmas tree. Would you know that it was worth millions if we hadn't told you?
So is it the most expensive Christmas tree ever?
We can neither confirm or deny that, but we can tell you that in 2010 The Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi won a Guinness World Record for having the most expensive Christmas tree and it was worth $11 million. That's about $4 million short of what this tree is worth.
Good news for those of us on a much smaller budget, though. The value of joy that a Christmas tree brings has nothing to do with how much you spent decorating it.
