Jennifer Lopez was the queen of curves long before the Kardashians made them part of their claim to fame. The world was once so obsessed with J.Lo's butt that someone created a rumor that she had it insured for millions of dollars, and we believed it! That was a lie, but one thing's for sure: The entertainer is proud of her curves and consistently hits the gym to keep them in tip-top shape.
More from MamásLatinas: Jennifer Lopez's fiercest music video styles ever
J.Lo isn't shy about showing off the results of her hard work. She posed semi-naked for the InStyle magazine, and made being 49 years young the new 20.
The star landed the cover of the December issue of 'InStyle.'
She looked absolutely fierce.
But the image of her draped in an emerald sequin Valentino Haute Couture cape stole the show.
The look gave us major side boob and side butt action. It was revealing in the most elegant way.
It is crazy to think that there was a time when J.Lo was unaware of the impact her curves had on body image around the world.
“I didn’t realize what I was doing — I was just being myself,” she told InStyle.
Curves were already widely accepted in Latin culture.
"In my family, curves were glorified and part of the culture," J.Lo shared. "It was just like, 'Jennifer has a big butt, and it’s good.'"
Images of skinny models in the media didn’t phase her while she was growing up.
“We were in the Bronx, like, break dancing,” she said.
Kim Kardashian made curves reach new levels of popularity, but we probably have J.Lo to thank for that too.
J.Lo told InStyle that Kim used to have a bracelet that said “What would JLo do?”
J.Lo will always be the queen in our books.
