If you want a happy marriage, there are certain things you can do to ensure success. But how do you tell if your marriage might be at risk of failing? If you have a sexual incompatibility, your marriage face trouble.

Most people think that if your sex life is bad, then your marriage is doomed. But having sexual incompatibility (say, one of you is more wild, or one of you wants to get frisky more often) can be a MUCH bigger mood and marriage killer.

Having too much monotony in your marriage may be a a sign of failure.

It's totally cool to have routine in your marriage and in your life, but what happens when that routine never changes and every day is unendingly just like the last? Boredom. Eventually, one of you will crack and that will become a BIG problem.

If you and your hubby have too many different interests, that could spell trouble.

It's totally okay to have SOME different interests and hobbies. Say, he likes to play video games and you prefer to read. But if you spend a lot of time on your separate interests, what time are you spending together? Instead, work on developing those things you have in common.

If you naturally grow apart over time, your marriage could be doomed.

Unfortunately hard to predict and ever harder to see coming, some couples simply grow apart over time. It can happen over months or years or even decades, but one day you may wake up and realize you don't even recognize the person next to you in bed. It happens.

If one or both of you have a major change in values, that could be bad.

The only true constant in life is that things change. And while you may think that the changes you or your hubby experience are for the best, a major change if values (such as suddenly becoming atheist or changing political parties) could mean the end is near.

If there is not enough focus on your marriage, things won't last.

Sometimes couples simply forget to put each other first. This is the person that you chose to tie your life to, but family obligations and work and kids and hobbies and everything else gets in the way. Once your spouse stops being the first person you go to, it can be problematic.

Forgiveness is an important tool in any marriage, and in life. If you have an argument, it's best to forgive and forget and move on. But if one of you continues to hold a grudge, it will spill over into the rest of your marriage and soon spell trouble for your union.

Having kids was your dream as a couple, and that's amazing. You love being a mami, but when the kids start constantly coming in first, your husband may begin to resent all of the attention that used to be reserved for him only. Don't forget about your partner being there too.

If there is family discord (with your in-laws), that could be bad news.

Whether your hubby simply never got along with your dad or your sister-in-law drives you absolutely crazy, having argument within the bigger family can be trouble for your marriage. What if your honey sides with his dad? Or what if you never hear him out? That's not great news.
