President Obama dances tango + 10 amazing things about his trip to Latin America

If you thought that seeing Barack Obama in Cuba was something else, wait until you watch the video of the President dancing tango in Buenos Aires. I knew he had moves, but not in a million years did I expect this. However, it's not the only cool thing that happened during his trip to Latin America. Let me tell you…

There is nothing more important than the political significance of this visit. Hopefully it produces a significant improvement in the of the quality of life Cubans on the island. But, that doesn't mean that we can't drool over Michelle Obama in a gorgeous Carolina Herrera dress. The First Lady's wardrobe for her trip was simply amazing.

Spanish skills

During their stay in Cuba, Malia –who speaks perfect Spanish– was the unofficial translator. Here they were in a paladar, as Cubans call the informal restaurants that people set up in their private homes.

That awkward moment with Raul Castro

After a tough press conference, in which the President managed to force the Cuban leader to answer some questions from the media, Raúl Castro tried to make him lift his hand in the way he has done many times with his brother Fidel Castro. It was great to see how Obama didn't play Castro's game, although may have been too slow to react.

A common ground in baseball

America's First Family went to a baseball game between Tampa Bay and the Cuban national team. Guess who won? The U.S: 4-1. That was cool, but what I liked the most was that the President didn't change his schedule after the terrorism in Belgium. There was a minute of silence (and I'm sure many phone calls and meetings before and after), but he didn't show fear.

Bold fashion for Buenos Aires

Michelle Obama wore a gorgeous Narciso Rodríguez dress for the arrival in Buenos Aires. It surprised me that while she avoided Cuban American designers in Havana, she chose this one once she left the country.

Antonia was the crafter who knitted the pashmina that Argentina's First Lady Juliana Awada gave to Michelle Obama. Gorgeous.

A very cool tango night

At the state dinner in Buenos Aires there was a tango show, and at end the dancers approached Mr. and Mrs. Obama and took them to the dance floor. You won't believe how well they did. They must be taking lessons.

Those moves!

See what I mean! The Obamas had tango lessons at some point in their lives. The tango is called "Por una cabeza" and was made famous in the U.S. by Al Pacino, when he danced to it in the movie, Scent of a Woman.

Honoring the victims

The President closed his visit to Buenos Aires honoring the victims of the Argentina dictatorship. One President Obama's promises was to release all the official documents that the government has about Argentina's last military dictatorship of the 70s.

The last day

Hotel Llao Llao

The Obama family chose Bariloche, an iconic city, to spend their last day in Latin America. Take a look at the hotel Llao Llao. It's just beautiful.
