Jorge Ramos publishes new book ‘Take a Stand’ that will empower your inner rebel

Jorge Ramos just published a new book and I must confess it moved me. Although the name changes according to the language–it's Sin Miedo in Spanish, and Take a Stand in English–the tag line and the message is the same: Lessons from Rebels. And what great lessons they are. I found plenty of inspiration to be strong, fearless and to fight for what I believe is fair. Here are my favorite quotes.

The veteran Mexican journalist was inspired to write his new book by dozens of leaders he has interviewed himself who fit into his description of a rebel, somebody who defied the status quo, for good or for bad. He reflects on those interviews and reproduces relevant quotes. However, to me the most important part was his passionate defense for Latinos. He includes arguments, with specific numbers, that debunk myths about our community, starting with the undocumented among us.

In the book, Ramos–the long time partner of Chiquinquirá Delgado–explains his decision to become a sort of a journalist-advocate for the most vulnerable Latinos in the country, as a form of rebellion and to balance the strengh of those who devalue them and abuse them. While doing it, he has given us pearls of wisdom that made me think about how strong and fearless we can really be. Get ready to be inspired, because they are powerful.
