Body confidence is trending on Instagram and Twitter, all thanks to the #Fatkini hashtag! Por fin, a selfie trend that promotes self-acceptance. I can get down with that.
The trending hashtag has been attributed to Gabi Gregg, a plus-size style blogger and plus-size swimwear entrepreneur. In 2012, Gregg (who also goes by Gabi Fresh) encouraged women of all sizes to ditch the cover-ups in favor of body-baring bikinis. "As always, I truly encourage you guys to get to the beach (or a pool) this summer. Don't let body shame keep you from having a good time!" Gabi writes. "I don't expect everyone to feel comfortable in a two piece, but hopefully I can inspire some of you to take the plunge. I can't tell you how freeing it is to just have fun without worrying about what other people think."

It took a few years, but the #Fatkini finally caught on and it looks like it's here to stay. This summer alone, thousands upon thousands of women have used the hashtag to show the world that everybody has a fabulous bikini body, no matter what size bathing suit they wear. It's truly a beautiful sight to behold.
