A young West Virginia girl is being called a hero after she recently saved her father's life, with a little help from Facebook.
When a severe storm tore through 10-year-old Brianna Vance's neighborhood earlier this month, it sent a huge tree crashing down on top of her dad, Gregory Vance, and two of his friends, all of whom had been sitting on the front porch. With no cell phone signal available in the storm and no landline available in the house, Brianna was forced to think of another way to ask for help. Luckily, the girl was able to act quickly.

Not sure of what else to do, Brianna managed to get online and logged on to Facebook to issue a plea for help. "The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad's almost dead," the young girl wrote. "He needs an ambulance please. Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house."
Thankfully, someone saw her post and called 911 for help for the family. Rescue crews arrived at the house, where they removed Vance and his friends from the wreckage and rushed them the hospital. All three men were treated and later released.
Needless to say, authorities were left impressed with little Brianna's quick-thinking actions. "This is the real hero, that little girl, and I hope she gets recognized for her heroism," Lt. Tim Granger of the local fire department told ABC News.
What an amazing young girl! Instead of panicking like many others might have, she thought on her feet and was able to get the help she needed to save the lives of her dad and two other adults. It just goes to show social media usage among kids isn't all bad. I'm just glad everyone is OK!
