Britney Spears has been with boyfriend David Lucado for a while now and says she is completely happy with him. Spears began dating him shortly after she and ex-fiance Jason Trawick broke up. Despite giving romance a chance, the pop princess wasn't going to jump into another relationship without getting one important person's approval.

Apparently Lucado received papa Spears' seal of approval after he did a background check on him and passed. Wow, sounds like the pop star's dad is somewhat overprotective. Can you blame him? She is afterall a huge star and has had her heart broken one too many times in the public eye. Remember the Justin Timberlake fiasco?
We appreciate Jamie looking out for his little girl, since we as Latinas have dealt with our dad's behaving the same way growing up. In fact, we've come up with a list that indicates that you were raised by a Latino dad. Trust us, you'll be able to relate!
1. You were–and still are–his "Hijita," "Mamita," or any other cutesy name ending in "-ita."
2. He cried the day you got married or went off to college.Those are the few things that will break a Latino man's tough guy facade.
3. He has an assigned seat at the dinner table.
4. He likes coming home to a home-cooked meal that's served to them by your mom.
5. He interrogates every guy you date and threaten to kill them if they hurt you.
6. He threatened any perverted man who hit on you in the street.
7. You're not allowed to sleep in the same room as your long-term boyfriend because god forbid, sex.
8. The idea of their daughters having sex freaks them out. In their minds they're virgins till marriage.
9. You call your dad, "Papi" or "Daddy"–no matter what your age.
10. He treated you like you were his son and tried to get you to like his favorite sports and teams.
11. You weren't allowed to join sleepovers your friends hosted.
12. He always worries you don't have enough money and gives you extra spending cash, even if you've been married for years.
13. He wants to make sure you always look nice for a special occasion and lets you get the outfit of your choice no matter what the cost.
14. You argued with your mom, but one look from your dad was more than enough to get you to behave.
15. When he denied you doing certain activities your brothers could do and his only reasoning was: "Because you are a girl. "
