Sometimes it's better late than never to accomplish a goal you've always wanted to achieve. For one abuela, 77-year-old Brenda Boxall, that dream was to lose 154 pounds after her weight ballooned up to 280 pounds during her 20's. Now at a healthy 135 pounds, Boxall says it took her over 50 years to reach her goal weight.
If that isn't inspirational, I don't know what is!

Losing weight as we get older becomes a greater challenge which Boxall learned the hard way after trying to drop the weight since her 20's. After being heartbroken from the end of her first marriage, Boxall ended up gorging on cakes, bread, and other unhealthy food selections which estimated to 7,000 calories a day.
Upon seeing her body in pictures and shocked at her size, the abuela decided it was time to lose weight. "At one point I saw a picture of myself in the local paper I looked like a big green blob," she told the U.K*. Daily Mail*. That's when she set a 140 pound weight loss goal and vowed to do whatever it took to get there. However losing the extra pounds was a lot harder than Boxall expected.
She was only able to lose 98 pounds and struggled with the remaining 42 pounds. Shockingly it took her 50 years to lose those last pounds, but she reached her goal weight in 2010 after joining Weight Watchers. She even shed five more pounds than expected. Since then she has maintained her weight and continues to do so by attending Weight Watchers classes and exercising.
Wow, talk about a serious weight loss inspiration! So many of us put off losing weight, but don't realize how hard it is to do so later on in life. It's admirable that this abuela never gave up and kept her eye on the prize until she dropped ALL the weight. If you needed motivation to lose weight then look no further than this amazing woman!
