Brave teen takes keys away from drunk driver who killed her friend

Jessilyn Eisman__ is one bold teen. The 16-year-old was in a car with three friends on an Iowa highway when they were struck by a van driving the wrong way. One of her friends was killed by the impact and the two others were badly injured. Although she must have been in shock, Jessilyn managed to crawl out of the wreckage and demanded that the driver of the van call 911.

When Hilario Velasquez Ramirez refused, the teen says she had no other choice but to take his car keys away so he wouldn't escape the crime scene.

I honestly can't believe the bravery shown by this young woman. She should also be commended for her quick thinking despite what she had just gone through. I'm not sure I would've acted so smartly after seeing a friend of mine die in front of my very eyes. But thanks to Jessilyn, Ramirez was arrested for suspicion of homicide by vehicle and driving while intoxicated. To top it off, the drunk driver was driving without a license and had no insurance.

Jessilyn's17-year-old friend who was sitting on the back seat sadly died at the scene. The driver and another teen are in the hospital in stable and critical condition respectively. Hopefully they'll both recover soon.

Jessilyn suffered only minor injuries and according to what she told Omaha television station KETV, she couldn't just let the guy who killed her friend leave as if nothing had happened. After taking his keys away, she flagged another driver who called 911. There's no denying that she's the perfect example of a great friend and a brave human being.

Meanwhile Ramirez, who's in this country illegally, is the prime example of the kind of undocumented immigrant who should be deported instead of the thousands others who are only here for a chance to give their families a better life.
