The Kelly family from Utah celebrated the Father's Day weekend camping in New Fork, Wyoming enjoying nature and each other–until their outing was crashed by a black bear who wanted some bacon. They had cooked up a delicious breakfast and thought they had done a good job of cleaning up, but apparently a small amount of bacon grease left on the grill attracted the attention of a hungry bear.

Staff members warned the family that there was a bear and when 11-year-old Bayden Kelly caught sight of the bear he started waving his arms frantically and yelling in order to distract the bear so his family could get to safety. It would have worked too, but his younger sister Moriah froze. Bayden yelled at her to run, but she wouldn't budge, so he ran to her and that's when the bear started coming at them.
After Bayden grabbed Moriah and started running toward shelter, the bear followed and when it was about 10 feet from them, their other brother Logan put on his metaphorical superhero cape and came to the rescue. Logan came out of the cabin he was in and started yelling loud enough to distract the bear and give his siblings a chance to escape, which they did.
Kamila and Brandon Kelly, the parents of this brood, should be incredibly proud of both of their boys' heroic actions. I love that they instinctively took care of each other. That is nothing but love. I hope they stay safe and always look out for each other.
