Garcia is seen explaining to the reporter her first-hand experience with the tornado when suddenly someone spots something rustling underneath the debris. The surprise that unfolded left everyone in complete shock and awe as a little dog's head was seen moving in the rubble.
According to the video, Garcia explained how she was sitting on a stool with her pooch in the bathroom but when the tornado hit, she was knocked off and thrown to the ground. She last thing she remembered was that she was laying there and called for her little dog but he didn't respond.
Little did she know that during that live telecast her beloved pet would emerge from the rubble uninjured and well. A woman is seen off camera pointing out that she saw a dog moving in the wreckage behind Garcia and when they went to investigate, they saw the little black pooch struggling to get out of the debris that had him trapped.
The touching scene is caught on camera as Garcia is reunited with her furry friend and says: "I thought God just answered one prayer–to let me be okay–but he answered both of them, because this was my second prayer." It's apparent that even the reporter is overcome with emotion and is heard breathing a sigh of relief and saying, "I'm so glad."
I couldn't help but get choked up watching this video because this poor woman was not only alone in the destruction, but she had no idea of the whereabouts of her dog. It was truly a miracle to see the dog stirring about in the rubble after a natural disaster that took so many lives. After such a horrific tragedy, it's always heartwarming to hear something positive that's come out of it, such as this sweet story.
